We just spent 2 nights here last week and I must say that I was disappointed. They did "upgrade" us to a supposed "jacuzzi room" which ended up being a corner room that was VERY small (I could hardly cross paths with my husband in it!). The "jacuzzi" was a large tub with 14 (yes, I counted) little metal nubs which were the jets. It was hard to get the drain to stay in, the water pressure to fill the glorified tub was very poor, and the "jets" made lots of noise but didn't really have much power to them. It was just more annoying because of being ice cold when you touched them, even though the water was warm. Pretty sad! It may have been the cat's meow...in the 70's! The room seemed clean and the bed was decent. It did have a flat panel TV (don't think an ordinary TV could have fit!). For $159 a night, plus tax/GST, AND parking, I would have rather been further out of town and driven in. The location is decent, esp if you want to go to Granville Island. I don't think we'll stay here again. The Georgian Court and Holiday Inn are much nicer for the $$.

Got this hotel on hotwire.com. For the price (~90/night American) was not a bad experience. The hotel was slightly outside of downtown but I did not mind it at all as it was close to the ferries for Granville island. The room was slightly small but clean; the bed was comfortable as well.

It's not a westin, but for the price it is a good value. Albert, the concierge was the best i have ever encountered. He provided accurate insights to local restaurants that turned to be quite fabulous. He even drove us to one.
During my stay, i stayed in two rooms. The showers are not pressure controlled, so you can get burned very easily and suddenly. The shower curtains are so close to the shower heads, they cling to you during the shower. The black out blinds are just a few inches too short. The TV has no menu so you never know what's on. Some of the help is really quite good and some are not so helpful.
The location is very good, walking distances to good restaurants, and Granville island.

Stayed at the Executive Hotel Vintage Park for 3 nights. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel is undergoing some renovation in the front lobby, but we weren't bothered by noise by it. We arrived and checked into our room. Once we got inside, we knew that our room was a smoking room by the smell, so we immediately went downstairs and asked for a new room. The front desk immediately switched our room for a non-smoking room. The size of the room itself is quite small, but we were outside for most of the day so it was fine. The whirlpool tub is very nice and large. Vancouver isn't too large of a city to get around, so we found this hotel to be in an area easy to navigate and walked to Yaletown and Robson Street with no problems. Overall it was a nice stay. I'm only sorry that we never got back to the hotel in time for the 5pm wine tastings they had every evening.

I had booked 21 room nights here for Australian and New Zealand family who were coming and going over a period of one month.

Our intention was to have them stay within walking distance of our apt, give them the facilities of a suite i.e. laundry/kitchen and also give them a view of sunsets over English Bay. The best suites are west facing and have balconies. The price was not a problem.

I booked the suites in person. I checked on the reservation 3 times. At each visit I offered a credit card as a deposit to confirm the bookings. This was refused.

Imagine my surprise when we were informed by a voicemail message on the night before the family's arrival that all nine of them were to moved to one of this Chain's out of town properties- namely Richmond, BC! We quickly scrambled to find another hotel (at a hugely increased cost to us) so as to ensure we were close together on this first visit to Vancouver of our Australian family.

After this experience I visited the management in person. Suddenly I could not get confirmation of the suites I had booked several months in advance for the return family visit. But hoped things would work themselves out.

Then, shortly before they were to return, I got an email from the Hotel's Sales Manager saying that our party’s bookings had been changed.

- One couple had been assigned a “Regular" hotel room. No laundry/kitchen/view and small room. (Avoid these like the plague!)

- The configuration and location of the other previously booked suites would now require us to book another suite at further cost!

- View rooms were no longer available.

- Rooms were now on lower floors close to the bridge or facing away from English Bay.

(Avoid lower level suites/rooms overlooking the Granville Street Bridge - noisy traffic.)

As mentioned above, the best suites are west facing and have balconies. Of course, if you book them you may find, as we did, that you won't get what you have asked for even if you have confirmed several times.

Our solution was to move our guests to the hotel next door (the Quality Inn) It did not offer the "potential" of the views sought from the Executive Inn and had a lower rating. But we found the Front Desk and staff could not have been more helpful even with our late booking and the rooms were as promised!

Naturally we moved our NZ family who were to arrive a couple of weeks later out of this property.

The Vintage Park Executive Inn's uncaring, inattentive greedy management is an embarrassment and a sad apology for Vancouver's incredibly talented tourism industry. It makes me ashamed to know such scoundrels exist in our city.
