Chateau Whistler, the architectural mandate was to 'infuse the charm
and style of other Canadian chateaux built earlier in the century,
into a modern structure.' Rustic Canadian antique pieces
representative of the country in its youth were collected in
Labrador, Baffin Island, the Laurentians, the Maritimes, rural
Ontario and the West Coast. The interior design was under the
direction of Frank Nicholson, internationally acclaimed interior
designer, best known for Ritz-Carlton hotels and many of the Four
Seasons hotels throughout the world. Bearing the signature style of The Fairmont Chateau
Whistler, the grand decor brings the old and new together in a
seamless meld of historical style and modern beauty.
