My husband and I stayed here with our 1 year old son during the last week of
August 2007. This was our first visit to Vancouver and we paid $100.00 per night
and it was great. We were on a very high floor with a view of the water and the
city skyline. The staff is wonderful and the housekeeping excellent. The bed is
extremely comfortable.
It is in an excellent location with the train station right below.
I would definitely stay here again.

More photos The service at this hotel was very good from valet parking to the
room service. The valet parking cost 35 a night with regular self park costing
25.
We found the hotel to be very clean and nicely situated downtown only a couple
blocks South of Robson St. Our room was large and nicely appointed with modern
furnishings and large windows with a nice view of the city from the 26th floor.
The bed was very nice but not as comfortable as the bed we had just stayed in
last weekend in Vancouver at the Marriot Pinnacle.
The room was a standard however came with a nice wall mounted LCD and a large
desk with double USB, double power outlet, and of course DSL or wireless
internet all at the work station. Good room and hotel for a business traveler or
romantic evening.

It's been 20 years since I was last in Vancouver, for Expo '86. I loved
Vancouver then. Now, I'm not so sure.
The Hyatt was non-descript from the outside. Downtown Vancouver is very
bustling. If I had been asleep and woke up here, I'd have a hard time figuring
out what country I was in. The passers-by were a very eclectic mix of all
cultures, but it was predominantly Asian in nature.
Inside, the hotel was still non-descript. The lobby and public areas were
similar to any number of hotels I've visited in the past. My room was quite
modern...some good, some not so much. The bed was quite comfortable, yet I did
not sleep well. I suspect it was due to the noisy ventilation system, which was
too warm for the first several hours. Seems to take a LONG time to respond to a
thermostat with tiny numbers. Wish I'd brought my magnifying glass!
There's a large desk for business travelers, but I left my laptop home on this
trip. I have a PC card for the thing anyway, so I wouldn't have tried the
hotel's internet connections anyway. When I sampled the Hyatt properties in
Hawaii, they all had i-pod docks and the Vancouver property has them, too. I'll
not pass judgment on these since I don't have an i-pod.
The bath has one of those curved shower curtain rods, a feature I like. Plenty
of high-quality soap, shampoo and conditioner. What I wasn't to fond of was the
shower head, mounted not high on the wall as you expect, but in the ceiling so
it can "rain" down on you. Since the initial blast from any shower is the cold
water waiting in the pipes, this was an uncomfortable shock. I'll keep the
old-fashioned preference, here.
We were all there for business meetings, so food was provided by whatever
large-scale kitchen the hotel uses. The chef inventing this menu needs to be
disposed of immediately...the food was consistently overcooked, low-quality,
bizarre-tasting and just plain terrible. We were actually thinking of heading to
a nearby McDonald's for an improvement in quality. 'Nuff said?
Vancouver has better hotels with better food. Next time I go, when I have the
choice of accommodation (I didn't this time), I'll shop around.

Traveled here on business last weekend. Room was large and very clean. We had
two double beds, and they very comfortable. The bedding was very nice, and the
pillows were wonderful. The rooms were cleaned in a timely manner. We never saw
the maids wondering the halls, it was like the rooms were cleaned by invisible
maids! The bathroom was large and nicely tiled with granite. Great colors, great
counter space. The down side to the bathroom was the lighting. The lighting was
very dim. Also the lighting in the entire room was dim. The towels for such a
high end hotel were thin and not very soft. The shower itself was nice, roomy
but the shower head being as modern as it was, wasn't all that great. The shower
head is in the ceiling and pours down on you. It is like standing in the rain.
No control of the water pressure, no angle control either. Did not really care
much for the shower. It was beautiful but not that functional. Men may disagree
as they do not have to manoeuvre to shave. The food is great, very creative
dishes and nicely presented. The staff was very friendly. Beware of the homeless
pan handlers hanging around the hotel. I had one ask if I wanted to buy a peanut
for a dollar.

This hotel is in a great location! I had a standard king room on an award stay.
I would most likely stay here again when our USD gets stronger. Their Regency
club had a small selection of evening and morning snacks/breakfast. The hotel
staff was very polite and friendly especially on the RC level.
