We stayed here when we first arrived in Vancouver on our way to Whistler and
again on our way back. It was a fantastic experience both times. First the
reception staff were exceptional, going out of their way to help - both in terms
of getting interconnecting rooms for us and ensuring we had the same
configuration on our return, even though it was not specified on the
reservation. They were friendly, helpful and very welcoming and we were also
able to change the dates of our internet reservation without charge [although we
did end up staying an extra night]. The rooms were comfortable and well
appointed, although not exceptionable. There is construction work going on next
door and a note in the room explaining but it did not interfere with our peace
and quiet. The hotel restaurant is first class and I would stay here again just
to be able to dine there! We have 2 teenage sons though and admittedly it did
not really suit them, but then they only had to cross the road to be in the
Pacific Place Shopping Centre which had a foodcourt to suit their tastes. The
boys enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and the gym was good. The hotel is in an
excellent position for walking anywhere in the downtown area, Gastown, the ferry
to Granville Island etc. We would all be very happy to stay here again

Stayed for 3nights early Dec, I have nothing but positive comments about the
Met. Location, cleanliness, service, price etc all wonderful, would have no
probs recommending this hotel to anyone.
A special note about the excellent service we received from Courtney in Diva
bar, a gracious host with one of the most spectacular quiffs I have ever had the
pleasure to see.

Booked this hotel based on the location and ratings, plus a great deal for a
weeks stay. It doesnt appear to be as big as you might think but that takes
nothing away from a great hotel in great location. You are in walking distance
of every major attraction and everything else is only a short taxi away.
Vancouver is a fantastic city and this hotel does it justice. Apparently the
food at the Met is supposed to be amazing but for some reason we never got
around to it...maybe next time! Make sure you check out Grouse Mountain and the
Capilano Bridge tours.

We paid C$265 (room only) per night for 4 nights in a deluxe King bed room and
were happy with what we had. The bed was big and very comfortable. The TV had a
wide range of PPV films which we used a couple of times. The bathroom was the
most ergonomic we'd ever used. Everything seemed to be just in the right place
and it was a good size, totally fitted out from floor to ceiling with marble
tiles.
Our 'patio' window opened out on Howe Street, a busy thoroughfare but we didn't
have a noise problem.
The hotel is a couple of blocks from Robson St main shopping area. It was in a
good location for getting to the waterfront, the main museum and restaurants (
try Keg Caesars, 595 Hornby St, about 5 mins from the hotel for great steaks).
We took one breakfast in the room, the rest of the time we ate breakfast out.
There was plenty of choice closeby.
Room Service was usually efficient, though one request went unsatisfied. The
food was OK but nothing special, certainly not good enough to tempt us into the
much vaunted Diva restaurant at the hotel.
The hotel has valet parking which was useful to us, though pricey ( like all
Vancouver parking) at C$28 perday.
We noted that the hotel appears in the Titan Travel Connections 2008 brochure at
around £56 per person per night. At this price we think it's good value.

We stayed at the Met from Sept 13 through Sept 23 and had a great experience. We
picked this hotel because of its' central location and were very satisfied. I
believe this is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in at a
hotel. The sheets and down comforter were wonderful. Great service from the
staff. I loved the newspaper left at your door every morning and the water left
every evening in your room. The Molton Brown amenities were great. Wish we could
get these in the States.
Asked for and received a room on a higher floor (14th). Really cut down on any
traffic noise from the street. Also, I've noticed past reviewers complain about
the elevators and I really must disagree. We NEVER waited more than 30 seconds
for an elevator. The business center is great for checking e-mail - we did not
need to drag our laptop with us. Also, the in-room safe is great.
Did not eat at the restaurant but did order a piece of the Stilton cheesecake
and took it up to room (you MUST try it!).
Location is excellent for making use of Vancouver's public transportation - what
a deal - for 8.00 you can travel almost anywhere you want to go in one day.
A bit pricey but would definitely stay there again.
