Review of the Executive Inn Burnaby

We stay at the Executive Hotel every year when visiting family in
Burnaby. The suites are great, with good sound-proofing so that if jet
lag hits one of us, the TV doesn't keep the other awake. The staff at
Tivoli restaurant are friendly and even remember us from year to year. I
was a bit surprised when I went to book for this year and it appears
only some packages provide free parking.

I had to stay here as all other hotels in the area were full. The
service was average which I have come to expect these days in a hotel
chain. The gym is weak with 1 treadmill 1 bike and a universal machine.
The lounge closed at 10 witch I found odd as I often get in late to
hotels. The temperature around the hotel varied from comfortable to too
warm. In the room the air conditioner could not cool the whole room
effectively. I guess for the money it isn't bad but I would spend more
for something newer. The lobby looked nice but the hallways were tired
and the decor looks like early 90's in spots. Wifi didn't appear free.
There were conferences that had wrapped up and there were tables and
linen strewn about in spots which made it look messy. They looked like
they started a renno and cut some corners. For example the new wall
paper looked good and some of the furniture looked refreshed and then
you see old cabinets and doors in parts of the room. I would not stay
here again and I don't believe the website represents this place fairly.

Very professional and neat staff. Always willing to help and make your
stay an enjoyable one. I guess my only comment would be is that although
they are very friendly, they could smile a little bit more. Great job
and keep up the good work.

Great location, close to skytrain and restaurants. Nice sized suite.
Took 55 mins from airport to hotel via skytrain (2 zones). Front desk
staff very good even though there was no reservation due to a 3rd party
error. It had the most difficult clock radio that I have ever used. They
even have the instructions posted and I had difficulty.

Comfortable place to stay
The room was clean and comfortable, but the lack of free internet was
disappointing. If you would like to entice more people, offer free
internet instead of charging almost 10$ for the service.
