Stayed 5 nights at this hotel in May and had a great stay. We had a large room
on the second floor with 2 huge beds and a massive flat screen TV. The room had
both A/C and a ceiling fan, a fridge, microwave and lots of hanging space. The
bathroom was a little small but it did the job. On arrival we were shown to our
room and given a fruit basket. We also received 2 complementary bottles of water
each day. The free breakfast was also good with a selection of cereals, bread,
pastries, egg and sausage. In addition to coffee and juices. The hotel is in a
decent area with several independent restaurants close by. Starbucks and
Dominoes are also 2 minutes walk away. We did eat at the attached Admiral Pub on
one occasion but we were not impressed. The drive to dowtown took about 15
minutes but was straight down Hastings St all the way.

Excellent staff who have gone out of the way for superior service!
My room had been recently remodelled and was good except it had no closet.
Traveling companion's room was poor in comparison.

I can say that this hotel met or exceeded all my expectations. I was concerned
due to the fact that there was an adjacent pub and I thought the noise would
filter up to the rooms but that was not the case, at least in my room. The staff
is very friendly and informative whenever I had questions about where to eat,
places to go, things to see. And the adjacent pub is a great place to eat, and
quite convenient. The complimentary breakfast, while always the same choices,
had quite a variety- cold and hot cereal, yogurt, danish pastries, bagels,
toast, waffles, scrambled eggs and sausages. As well as hot tea, coffee, milk,
juice. The room was clean and well maintained. I think the hotel must have been
renovated recently since it is an older building but the rooms looked new. A
nice hot shower in the morning was always available, something that I can't say
about all the hotels I've stayed in.

Stayed at this hotel in April, the stay was excellent, the hotel is older, but
has been tastefully renovated. Rooms are a bit on the smaller side, but for the
price and amenities, you shouldn't complain. We had 2 queens, as the hotel was
sold out for just one. The breakfast was real good, it was continental
breakfast, but they had eggs and sausages. Yum! The hotel is not handicap
friendly, there is no elevator.

We weren't quite sure what to expect and assumed this area of Vancouver might be
less than favourable. We were wrong. A tremendous amount of effort and customer
service make this Boutique Hotel in an older building worth a visit. Room was
clean and bed was comfortable. If there is a weak point it is that seating is
limited to the desk chair or on the "high Mattress" bed. I found myself using
the luggage rack as a seat. There are 2 large sets of drawers in the room and we
felt one would be enough and the high chest of drawers could be replaced by a
small and comfortable chair and ottoman. Great customer service included an
escort to the room by the desk staff followed a short time later by a knock on
the door with a small fruit basket and a welcome note....Nice Touch. The
neighborhood is just that, a neighborhood, plenty of interesting small
businesses and plenty of restaurants with a vast range of choices. Parking is
free and so is a nice hot/cold breakfast bar. It's not a downtown 5 star but in
many ways it's better.
