I would have given the hotel 4 stars, but it is kind of out in the
sticks a little bit. The drive into Vancouver and other touristy spots
like Stanley Park isn't bad at all, but since we were only in town for
the weekend, the commute back and forth took up a lot of valuable time.
Plus if you get tired in the early evening and want to rest at the hotel
for a little bit, it would be a pain in the rear end to drive back to
HIE from Vancouver, rest for a little bit, and then drive all the way
back to Vancouver. We had planned to do this, but by the time we were
feeling rejuvenated again, we didn't feel like making the long drive
back into town and decided to call it a night... kind of a shame when
you're on vacation and want to discover a new city...

Ok i love Holiday Inns, I travel allot and like the rewards. Stayed last
month on the recommendation of my home away from home hotel in Calgary
and loved it. Again the staff were great and always friendly. Oh and my
favorite- reliable internet. no problems and loved the room.

I had forgotten that this hotel has a few issues with hot water that I
had experienced before. No matter the time of day hot water was an
issue. You could stand in the shower with the water on full hot and it
was still lukewarm. Upon leaving the hotel I had decided complaining to
the front desk was not worth it as they had already upon checking in
placed an unauthorized amount for room incidentals on my card
(280.00)but I did however mention the hot water and I was told "well it
has to travel far to get to the 5th floor" Won't be staying again.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Burnaby for 5 nights in Sept.
The room was very comfortable and clean. Wi-fi , parking and hot
breakfasts were included in the room price. The staff were always
friendly and helpful. The locations was convenient...very close to the
Skytrain stop. The shopping mall next door appealed to me (not so much
my husband). We would definitely stay there again.

Everything was top notch at this hotel right from the prompt check in. I
had asked for a room with a view, but since they don't really have any
"view" rooms they upgraded us. The room was very spacious, lovely
bathroom, micro and bar fridge. The outdoor pool is small but we
thoroughly enjoyed sitting by the pool (which was very warm) and
watching the sky-train go by. The only warning I have is that the pool
deck material is very slippery - saw two people fall (while running) on
the deck. The breakfast room was well stocked (very cold - bring a
sweater!) with everything you need for a hearty start to the day. The
only complaint I had was that the air conditioner was very noisy - had
to get up in the middle of the night and turn it off.
