I read about this hotel. My partner and I needed a place to stay for one night
while we went to a Christmas party nearby. A couple of reviews noted that the
hotel is above a bar and faces East Hastings, which can be a busy street, so we
asked for a quieter room at the back. When we arrived, they initially gave us a
room at the front, but when we pointed out we'd specifically asked for a room at
the back, they promptly gave us one. The decor in our room was lovely and the
bed was SUPER-comfortable. When we came back from our party, we could hear the
noise from the band playing in the bar and wondered if we could hear it in our
room - no problem, our room was very quiet. All in all, a lovely little hotel at
a very reasonable price - just ask for the right room!!

This was the nicest surprise we have had in a long time when it comes to staying
in a hotel. I was initially a bit wary as the rooms were above a pub but no
problem at all. we were met at the front desk by a delightful lady, very
friendly and professional.
We were escorted to our room which was by far outstanding in every way, all the
little detail were looked after. The staff member who showed us our room
returned shortly with a basket of fruit, bottled water, and tea and coffee
making facilities were there for us also.
A buffet " continental " breakfast was available from 6.30 am. ( complimentary )
it certainly was well beyond your typical continental breakfast. Fresh juices,
hot and cold cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits, croissants, muffins and pastries,
assorted breads, sausage, scrambled eggs and waffles and fresh brewed coffee and
tea, it really was excellent.
Top marks, great customer service and probably the best value in a hotel in the
Vancouver area. We will now be regular guests on our trips to the coast and we
certainly will recommend this hidden gem to our friends.

We stayed at this hotel because of the non-availability of rooms at our usual
hotels in Vancouver. We were pleasantly surprised by this boutique hotel under
the Howard Johnson's logo. The room was exceptionally clean and we found the
service better than the five star hotels that we normally at in Vancouver. We
were greeted by Aaron and Katie who did a simply superb job in looking after all
our needs. Katie even ensured we had a complimentary fruit basket in our room
after our long day. Both Katie and Aaron were extremely friendly and provided
excellent advice on the local restaurant haunts. Two thumbs up.

The hotel is a little hard to see from the street since it is a mixed use
facility. The sign on the side of the building that reads "Hotel - Pub - Liquor
Store" made me a little nervous upon arriving (the hotel rooms are upstairs).
However, once inside the staff is extremely inviting and friendly. They walk you
to your room and share with you all the amenities along the way. They delivered
a nice fruit basket as well. The rooms are small but well appointed and newly
remodelled. The continental breakfast was very well done with fresh tasting
scrambled eggs and sausage. The pub was a very nice place to relax and have
dinner as they had many tv's and the free hotel internet connection worked
great. They have a partnership with a local gym for free exercise which was much
better than the usual hotel exercise room

Thanks to Allure Hotels we found this great hotel. The rooms are small but very
nicely furnished and clean. The staff was very helpful. The hotel was on a main
bus line and we found we could get to most all attractions with Vancouver's
great public system. The only minor complaint was that, being on a major street,
it could be a little noisy but not enough to keep us awake at night. All in all
a very nice stay.

The hotel was a boutique hotel which was tastefully decorated, we liked the fact
that it was cozy which made us feel like home. Their staffs were friendly and
our bed was extremely comfortable. We definitely recommend it to our friends and
family.

This hotel is located in an old building. It looks better inside than on the
outside. It has a very small lobby with one computer access station next to the
entrance. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. However rooms are small and not
comfy. Bed sheets aren’t cotton. Washroom is small; toilet is small even for
normal size person. There is not enough counter space to put your stuff.
Breakfast is good. Hotel personnel are friendly. I would not give 3 and ½ stars
to that hotel because it is not up to standards of that rating. I think that
hotel should have 2 and 1/3 starts. |
