July 20, 2011 Had a terrible experience here. I had very noisy neighbors who woke me up in the middle of the night. So I called the front desk to send someone to tell them to keep it down. I heard the security guard come up to the people next door and tell them that their neighbors had made a complaint. Security proceeds to tell them that it was their neighbor in room 608 who made a complaint. Of course, our neighbors then start knocking on our door because they know who made the complaint and they were mad. The next day there was blood and broken beer bottles outside our neighbors door. I heard other people partying throughout the night. . I do not feel that this is an appropriate place for children to stay due to security allowing guests to party. I am very angry that security disclosed who made the noise complaint. Apparently it's not safe to do so. Front desk did not offer me anything when I told them what happened. The room was nice, but I am VERY concerned about the training that security receive. Guest Review of the Best Western Plus Kings Inn Burnaby June 20, 2011 This hotel is better than some Best Western's that I've stayed in, but I will not be returning. The staff was pretty friendly (although a bit understaffed as it was a busy week and I waited for 10 minutes both to check-in and out) and the rooms were nice-ish, but my room was non-smoking and yet it smelled like an ash tray. I think it's an old hotel that has been revamped recently. And the walls were so thin! I heard my neighbors when they came in at 1am, I heard their conversation as they continued to talk into the wee hours, and I heard them slamming doors when they left early the next morning. I'm not sure if this was because it was an adjoining room, or if all the walls were that thin - but I really could have used earplugs. The free breakfast next door at the Chinese restaurant was about as basic as it could get - there's cereal, toast, waffles, etc. Not the friendliest service, but hey, it's free. Making the reservation was difficult as the person I spoke with didn't speak very good English. It was clean and suited my needs. Could have a better comp breakfast! Will stay there again!
