Guest Review of the the Coast Vancouver Airport Hotel

So noisey. Whether windows were open or closed the noise was terrible.
The room is old, outdated, furniture should be given to charity. These
rooms are way overdue for an update.
Towels small.
Can't easily get luggage to car and hotel entrance is hard to
comprehend.
Has wireless internet. Free parking.
Take the time to go to the Coast Downtown or any other hotel. A Super 8
or Motel 6 would be a huge upgrade compared to this place.

We stayed at the Coast for a night and it was average...Clean sheets and
no bedbugs...
After reading the review we were a little bit concern about that but we
didn't see nothing...
If you are scared about bedbugs bring a garbage bag put your things in
it and put it in the bath...
It was an average hotel and and it was convenient for our need, and
overnight stay...

The hotel is inconveniently located with difficult access to most
amenities. The airport is nearby - sort of.
There is an additional parking fee (hotel does not own the parking
space) and the hotel has no responsibility for security of the parking
lot. After touring the area, there are many other hotels that appear to
be more convenient for travelers. The room is nice and the price is
reasonable for what you get.

The only reasons to stay here are that you need to be close to the
airport and you got a good rate. For around $55 (including the taxes and
other charges) on a site like Priceline, it is an ok deal.
The wireless internet worked and was relatively fast. There was an
in-room coffee maker which I did not use. The shower was serviceable.
Towels were of ample supply and appeared clean.
The rooms are very dated and if mine was typical, proper maintenance is
not being done. The lightbulb in one of 2 freestanding lamps next to the
bed was burned out. The wall socket next to the "desk" area was not
firmly attached to the wall. The toilet flush lever was loose and
flapping in the breeze. These are just 3 examples that immediately come
to mind.
The room smelled of tobacco smoke but was covered up with some sort of
vague aerosol spray masking odor.
The bed was ok and I did not notice any bedbugs, nor did I awaken
feeling as if I had been bitten.
I parked on the street across from the hotel rather than pay $10+ to
park in the lot.
The hotel location is in a noisy and charmless industrial area. You
could walk to a nearby McDonalds or a Subway, or to 2 or 3 unappetizing
looking Chinese restaurants. There were no ATMs or banks within walking
distance, although a service station appeared to have a proprietary ATM
inside. There is a station for the Sky train within walking distance if
that appeals to you to get out of the area without a car.
In summary, I'd consider staying here if I needed to be next to the
airport and got a really cheap rate. Otherwise, I would definitely look
ELSEWHERE.

This
Coast hotel is clean and well-run, and we have stayed at this location on
numerous occasions and recommended it to friends. However, on my recent
stay on the 4th floor, I was bitten, and a pest control visit later that
day confirmed for the hotel and me that it was bedbugs behind the
headboard (I had checked the mattress already, and it was immaculate, so
I didn't think bedbugs would be an issue). They moved me to a new room,
and had the pest control person inspect it, for my peace of mind, which
I appreciated. Though i did not get new bites, when I awoke the next
morning, most of the rooms around me had warning signs on them,
indicating bedbugs. The management offered a refund for my stay without
being asked, and were apologetic and helpful, as were staff. The whole
city is dealing with this problem, in all classes of hotels, and my
advice is regardless of where you stay is to ask for the maintenance
record of any room you are assigned to, as hotels should be able to tell
you if there have been bedbug reports or other maintenance issues in
your room, based on their records. If you have been exposed to bedbugs,
bag all your belongings in plastic before heading home/to your car, and
deal with them appropriately once home.

We stayed here for one night after arriving at
Vancouver Airport YVR. It's about 5-10
minutes from the airport, and they provide a free shuttle to and from
the airport which was very helpful. The hotel was comfortable with good
quality furniture and free wi-fi. There's a White Spot restaurant which
was good for breakfast, and also provides room service. There isn't much
around the hotel, but it works perfectly for a brief stop over when you
need to be close to the airport!

With a 24 hour Shuttle to/from the Airport (YVR) this is a good spot to
spend the night before flying out of Vancouver.
Old, but not showing it's age, our room was quiet (even tho' facing a
main street), very well kept & clean with all the standard amenities.
Of note: On site parking is minimal (we had to go around the block to
find access when checking in.) Unless there is other parking this is not
a spot to leave your vehicle while away. (We left our car elsewhere &
took a cab to the Hotel later in the evening after our check-in.)
We have absolutely no qualms about recommending this Hotel

I live i Japan and every year I stay in this hotel for a night or two
on my way back from my hometown in Canada.
This hotel is the best of all worlds close to the airport
a restaurant and restaurant bar on site.
What most people don't realize is a 15 minute walk will take you to the
buses
on Granville street or in the other direction the sky train.
Easy access to everything you want to see in Vancouver.
Good price good location. Yes I know the immediate surroundings
are industrial but once again easy to get to more scenic areas of
Vancouver.
Great value. Shouldn't write this review don't want too many people to
know about
this hotel.

Airport shuttle was excellent....leaves every 30 minutes 24 hours per
day. Hotel had good free wireless internet in the room and room was very
clean. Staff was very helpful and professional. There is a connected
restaurant but is very pricey....but so is everything else in Canada.
Excellent value for the money!
