Guest Review of the Aviawest in Vancouver at Rosedale

We stayed here for one night and were greeted by unfriendly
staff who never asked to help us to our room or anything, even
though we had tons of luggage. The rooms are extremely
out-dated, and uncomfortable. They promote this hotel as "luxury
suites", but it is neither of the two, or anything close to it.

We stayed for one night here after being in town for business.
We had a one bedroom suite and it was tiny but not squished. I
was pleased with all the extras in the room such as: two tv's, a
dvd player, free movies to borrow from the front desk, a stereo,
a mini kitchen, and king sized bed. The view from the window was
awesome too. The pool was really nice too and felt bright even
though it was on the main floor. The check in people at the
Rosedale desk also let our 2 yr old pick out a treasure from the
treasure chest which she just loved.

You can't beat the location either. The choices to choose from
in regards to shopping and eating are endless on Robson street.
You don't have to drive anywhere once you arrive. My only
complaint is no free wireless internet in the room, the gym
really isn't a gym (its a few machines in what used to be part
of the lobby) and you have to pay to park.

Way More Then I Expected. After reading a lot of the other
reviews on the hotel I was worried about what I was going to
find. So I was surprised to find a great hotel with well kept
rooms. Its location is convenient and the staff was very
helpful.

Lets start off with the check in office. Every person that I had
encountered was friendly and welcoming I have to mention the
manager Rihannah and Rubie, although the people working at the
Rosedale Hotel could learn a few things in hospitality. A bit of
a weird set up for check in but it was no big deal. The Location
was fantastic, rooms clean. There was enough room for me and my
family.

Great location to explore the city. You can walk almost
everywhere and public transportation is close and easy. Unit was
nice, huge window. The pool and hot tub are inside and you have
to walk through the lobby. That's the only bad part. And you
have to pay to park

We had a two bedroom unit on the 5th floor.
Some of the more glaring deficiencies:
The sofa bed in the living room had a gaping hole in the arm
(you could see the foam and the wood behind) and was completely
broken. It fell in towards the center and when we lifted the
cushions to look, we saw that the steel frame was severely bent
and broken. The
Aviawest representative was aware of it - and
yet they did not see the need to replace it?
There were some holes in the drywall and some shoddy patchwork
to holes in the trim around the door. The shower drain did not
work and had to be manually held open to drain the water.
Cleanliness of the unit overall was lacking.
Great location but AviaWest let us down with this one.
