Guest Reviews of the Best Western Plus Downtown Vancouver

We had the wonderful opportunity to stay 2 nights at the Best Western. The check
in process was prompt. The location of the hotel is on the far end of the street
somewhat removed from the busy part of downtown but within walking distance of
most shops and eating places. The staff was pleasant and responsive. The paid
parking was somewhat crowded in the later hours and there were times we had to
wait for a space. The restaurant on-site was easily accessible and had something
to offer for all of the family. For the price and the amount of time spent, this
was a good deal. The rooms are smaller so be mindful of how many adults and
children you plan to put in 1 room. Free WIFI a plus!

we stayed at the hotel for a week and we're very pleasantly surprised as we
didn't expect too much from a BW.
The rooms where big, extremely clean, comfortable and especially quiet. We were
on the second floor and the hotel is on Granville street but the room was very
very quiet even on Saturday night when the local hockey team won their 2nd game
in the Stanley Cup Final and Granville St. was packed with thousands of happy,
drunk and noisy fans.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance from both the downtown main
attractions and Granville Island.
We didn't have a car but friends of ours dropped us off at the hotel one night
and we entered the parking lot and couldn't understand the bad reviews about it
in previous posts. it was very easy to find and very convenient to park in.
the area around the hotel can be seen as a bit dodgy but frankly this is
Vancouver dodgy, not new-york dodgy - even the dodgy parts seem clean and
harmless...
our only two complaints are that (a) the toilets clogged a lot (we had to call
the hotel plumper twice in one week) and (b) the elevators are way too slow. We
waited 10 minutes on Sunday morning when we were trying to check out and finally
after 2 elevators arrived packed with passengers (again in 10 minutes!) we
dragged our luggage down the stairs to the lobby.
Again - these are minor complaints as we had a great stay overall

We stayed at this hotel the night before our Alaskan cruise was to depart. The
hotel was clean and nice. We found the staff friendly and helpful. We liked the
location as it was within walking distance of many restaurants. We liked Tim
Horton's for price and convenience and they took US dollars. We walked to
Granville Island (you had to pay to take the very short water taxi ride). Our
cruise boarding was delayed 4 hours until 5 p.m. This created a lot of
uncertainty for us as we did not know where we would go with all of our luggage.
The hotel let us stay there. They were very helpful. Only negative I saw was
that the lobby was small for the size of the hotel. At times it got crowded as
people were waiting for buses and shuttles. Overall, a great place to stay in
downtown Vancouver.

We stayed at the Best Western PLUS Downtown Vancouver for 2 nights with my
family.
Everything was clean and organized, and the location was very nice if you could
enjoy walking a little bit. But, if not, as a bonus, they do provide a shuttle
bus to places!
The facilities in this hotel were fantastic! They do have a hot tub and a great
work-out room with a table tennis, which is always fun. The white Spot in this
hotel was also great. Great selections and great service.
We highly recommend this hotel and we'll come back for sure!

This hotel was great value in Vancouver. The rooms were clean, spacious and well
laid out. The room and bathroom were spotless. Location was perfect and most
things were walkable.
The one issue we did have was in relation to other guests. Throughout the night
the two rooms on either side of us would switch from one room to the other
allowing the doors to slam shut. They talked and laughed loudly well past 3am.
After being disturbed many times I called the front desk who promptly dealt with
the situation by sending up security (who they said had already seen to this
room earlier in the night...). The noise quietened for all of 5 minutes after
security left and started up again.
Fitness center, hot tub and table tennis provided entertainment.
Free wifi, no free breakfast. Free shuttle was a bonus! Staff also went above
and beyond when the shuttle we requested was not available.
Overall a decent stay and I would give them my business again with the hopes
that we have better neighbors.
