We did not stay at this hotel but I would like to sing the praises of the female
concierge who helped us when the company (Discovery Tours) who was to meet us at
the hotel with our transfer & accommodation vouchers DID NOT turn up. The
concierge phoned Discovery Tours who then faxed our paperwork to the Fairmont &
the concierge gave them to us with scissors to separate them as there were 3
different vouchers on each page. I can't remember the concierges' name (I think
it started with S) but what a great advocate to the Fairmont if this is the
standard of their staff. Thank you very much.

We found this hotel's service to be exceptional - especially the service levels
received from Rodolfo at the Concierge Desk.!!

The Fairmont waterfront was a great place to stay- the room was nice, though
very yellow! We had a nice view of the water, and we really enjoyed that!
We had an issue with our TV, and within 20 minutes of calling to let the front
desk know we had maintenance there replacing it with a new one. Very impressive!
Room service food was good, and there isn't a bad menu. It was nice to come home
late after the game and have some good food.
My only complaint really, and it's not a huge complaint, was the poor shower.
Seems kind of petty, but I like a shower with some pressure, and this was not
one!!!
Overall a good stay, and I would stay here again.

A short undercover walk from the excellent skytrain from the airport, this hotel
was well located close to the cruise terminal, the historic Gastown, and a short
bike ride to the beautiful Stanley Park.
The hotel is very comfortable with very courteous and helpful staff. Our room
was a good size with large windows providing great views over the harbour.

My wife and I stayed there for a wedding last month. We have stayed all over
Vancouver in the better hotels as we go there 6 plus times a year. we stayed at
a Fairmont property because the wedding party was all there and it was an easy
walk to the service.
it is your typical Fairmont. Well trained staff and clean. the room was nothing
special and the bathroom was small.
the two things that really upset me and will make me not stay there again..the
TV reception was very poor and NO HD! the screen was getting all types of
interference and "snow" as we call it (yes I know the technical term and what
causes it) Also they charged me $15.62 for internet! ..what is this vegas! all
the other hotels I have stayed at in Vancouver have included internet. (Plus $32
to park my car seems a bit step as well. )
For $289 a room night there was nothing special. When they got done, nickel and
diming and taxing me our room was $393.48 for the night and I could not even see
the puck during the hockey game on their crappy TV service.
Fairmont's are always expensive and you can stay at the same or better hotel for
less right around the block..
Room Tip: as for a water view but they do charge extra...... |
