Guest Review of the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside

This was a 2 day stop for us prior to catching a cruise at the port. Our room
was just a standard room, worked just fine for our family of 3. Booked the hotel
because it was near port, then found out it was literally around the corner from
the Port - Canada Place, also around the corner from the Olympic Torch and
Convention Center, along with shopping and restaurants. As we ventured out more,
we found more shopping and restaurants. Perfect stop over and plenty to see. If
you travel light, the port is within walking distance, although if you have
several bags, its only a 5 min cab ride around the corner and it was approx. $5
to get there if that much. The lobby has 2 computers that are equipped with
internet and a small kiosk stand to check in for Vancouver Airport.

just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. When we checked in we asked if
possible for a room with a nice view was told the hotel was pretty full but said
he had found us a nice room. If the room we were given was nice I would hate to
think what bad was. Dark dingy and a corner window overlooking the back of
hotel. We had to permanently have the lights on in this room as hardly any
daylight could come into this room. I would say that the hallways to the rooms
and the rooms need a lot of updating cheap and tacky is the words i would use to
describe how we felt about this hotel. I would definitely not stay in one of
these hotels again

The hotel itself is nice enough. Our room was comfortable, clean, and updated.
The walls are super thin, and you can hear everything going on in the hallway,
but I've found this to be true for many hotels.
The location was pretty good. We were a few short blocks away from
Robson/Granville and a good walk from Stanley Park.
There is free wi-fi and free internet stations in the lobby, which is really
nice. There is a daily internet fee, if you want to have access in your room.
Parking is $20+ a day, but that is pretty normal for Vancouver.
Overall, I liked the Renaissance better than the Sheraton Wall Center and Sutton
Place. It's probably on par with the Hyatt, but the Hyatt has a better location
(but less comfortable beds).

Booked this hotel because it was close to the Vancouver Conference Center and
the closer conference hotels were fully booked. Boy, did I luck out. The room
was spacious, overlooked the harbour--I could see the seaplanes take off and
land, there was free wi-fi and the hotel was close to everything. Unlike the
conference hotel which was like a big mall, this hotel was smaller and nicer.
The staff were terrific and the room was really huge. I could walk to the harbor
park in 2 minutes, to the conference center in less than 5 and to Robson street
(major shopping) in 5-10. Also, the beds were soooo comfortable.

Clean, centrally located, walk a few blocks to Olympic center, waterfront,
conventions center , sightseeing buses, room view over water was nice..
everything in Vancouver is a little pricey, but a great city to visit. Staff was
friendly and helpful. great fitness center and pool for location... ****If you
pay $ 15 a night for internet , you get FREE local calls and calls back to USA..
( great deal) Room Tip: Ask for water view |
