We arrived at the Shangri La and were welcomed in a professional way
that impressed us all. The service in the hotel is very good, however on
the first afternoon our daughter stepped in a small piece of glass
causing her foot to bleed. I called and the response was that they did
sent up a safety person with a first aid kit. You would expect that they
would clean and vacuum the room to prevent a repeat. This did not
happen, we got however a piece of chocolate cake for our daughter.
We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, service was again good, food not
too special, have been in hotels that offer a more special selection and
preparation.
We stayed three nights, the last morning we had too leave early, on the
other two days we returned to our room at 15:30 and our room was still
not cleaned, again not a service I would expect from a hotel with this
reputation.

We hosted a two national conference at the Shangri-La in May and I have
to say I was extremely impressed by their attention to detail. Every
little thing was taken care of, there was always someone close at hand
to answer questions or tend to any needs we had.
From signing the contract with Josh and Joyce to dealing with Tyler the
Chef, I was impressed by every member of the staff. Each and every
person went out of their way to ensure that our conference went off
without a hitch.
I definitely would recommend the Shangri-La a place for business travel
and conferences. All the out of town guests were amazed by how beautiful
the rooms were and again how there was such an attention to detail with
everything.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

My husband and I have stayed twice at the Shangri-La. It is definitely
pricey, but once you stay there, you know why. It is absolute luxury,
the rooms are amazing, beautifully decorated and very spacious. The
service at this hotel is above anything I ever have seen. My husband
just happened to mention while booking that it was our anniversary, and
when we arrived in our room there was a large bottle of champagne on ice
and yummy desert waiting for us. They really go above and beyond and
there's been a note from the manager welcoming us both times. The second
time we went, we got a couples package which included a couples massage
in their spa, that was amazing too, but probably wouldn't have done it
if we had paid separately for it (VERY expensive). The location is great
too, near Robson and lots of other restaurants. Had breakfast both times
in the on-site restaurant, very delicious and great service.

Even one night experience in such a grand hotel makes you want to strive
for all that is out there in life to enjoy. To be treated with such
excellence makes one feel more than special.
There was absolutely nothing to complain about this hotel, we'll be
back!

Very nice stay at the Shangri-La, from the moment you walk in for
check-in to checkout, the experience is fantastic. Highly recommend just
walking into the door entry for the Spa , very calming. Staff and
Service excellent.

The hotel is first class in all aspects. It is located in the heart of
the city, close to everything. The furnishings are state of the art and
the service is exceptional in all areas. "Market" restaurant is one of
the very finest with high end service, quality and outstanding food. The
chef is renowned, and with good reason. It's the perfect restaurant for
the perfect hotel! |
