Guest review of the Days Inn Vancouver Downtown
Mar 7, 2011
My fiancée and I stayed at the Days Inn Vancouver Downtown on Feb 20th, 2011 to
celebrate our 3rd anniversary as a couple. We were in Vancouver for the day,
looking to do a bit of shopping & sightseeing, and have a nice walk along the
harbor by Canada Place.
We needed a hotel that was close to Robson Street, ideally a little closer to
the water, and we had a tight budget. We didn't need a pool, a gym, or anything
extra beyond a nice, comfortable sleep. The Days Inn hit the spot on all of
those criteria, so we booked ourselves in for a night.
We arrived by SkyTrain (Canada Line), which had a stop very close by (just a few
blocks' walk). We walked into a cozy (yep, I guess that means "small") lobby,
and were greeted immediately by the friendly front desk agent, who had us
checked in within about 2 minutes. Very quick.
As we headed to the elevator, the porter showed us a few quick tips on how to
use the key card. We were impressed that he took the time to show us. Whether or
not we actually "needed" the advice, I don't know, but we followed his
instructions and had no problems, so we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It
was a nice gesture, regardless.
Our room had a nice "urban" view. No, that doesn't mean we were looking into the
office building next door. We actually had a very pleasant view down one of the
roads (Burrard???) onto some two- or three-story tall piece of modern art (had
some modern looking blocks that moved up and down every few minutes).
The hotel was close to Canada Place, so we went for a nice little walk in that
area, past the Olympic torch and down into the harbour.
We returned via Robson Street, which was buzzing with activity, as usual. We
booked a meal at The Keg restaurant, which was a few blocks from the hotel.
After the meal, we returned to the room for a little shut eye. The room was very
clean. We watched a little TV before bed. The hotel had a new flat screen LCD
TV, and a nice little dock for my iPod to charge. It didn't charge my iPhone 4
(not compatible) but that's not a negative in any way... just an extra little
nicety that didn't work out. The Internet was free, so that more than made up
for it.
Our sleep was completely peaceful. Our room was almost next door to the
elevator, and we didn't hear a thing. We didn't hear traffic either. Nothing! It
was very good. The bed was very comfortable, especially the nice and heavy
duvet. We requested a late checkout (12 noon) - no problems.
Checkout itself took about 20 seconds. We had no incidentals, so that certainly
helped.
For what we were looking for, the Days Inn Downtown was perfect for us. A
peaceful night's sleep in a clean hotel, close to attractions. If you're looking
for a luxury stay, this might not be your hotel, but if you're looking for a
nice little budget hotel in a good location - you can't go wrong at the Days
Inn.

This was my fourth stay at the Days Inn Downtown Vancouver. I've posted glowing
reviews about them in the past but I can't help to keep raving because of their
great service!
This was the first time that I brought my vehicle to the hotel and the valet
service proved to be quick, efficient, and incredibly convenient especially for
the price. Parking in downtown Vancouver can be a headache so I appreciated this
amenity very much. Just let them know in advance when you're leaving and they
will have your car out front waiting for you. I also got a chance to use the
complimentary shuttle service which was convenient on rainy days when walking
was not as pleasant.
The staff never fail to make each stay a memorable experience for me. The Days
Inn is traditionally a three star brand but the service at this location is well
above four stars complete with valet service, baggage assistance, and even the
use of last names! I was shocked when I checked in and the staff greeted me by
name without even using their computers. This shows that they remembered me from
my last visit. In my opinion, there's nothing better than a hotel that knows how
to always make you feel welcome and at home.
Special thanks to Ksenia, Inna, Devlin & Corbin and the rest of the great staff
who never fail to make a stay in Vancouver a pleasant one!

able to get one the same day. Rooms are small but for a one nighter it was just
fine. Staff was friendly and the restaurant for breakfast was a good value and
tasted good too

I was attending a conference at the convention center and needed a hotel that
was affordable and close to the conference. I was pleasantly pleased with the
location. The hotel room was clean and the staff was very friendly. I also
enjoyed having the complimentary shuttle downtown. I also had breakfast in
Chelsea's downstairs at the food was great and huge servings. I definitely would
stay here again.

I booked a night at this hotel trough their own website because they said they
would guarantee the lowest rate found (I always prefer booking straight with the
hotel to guarantee...). Now, 5 days later, I'm still fighting to get them to
meet the lowest rate I found on the web.
Not only they are not meeting the lowest price, they had the HIGHEST!!!
UNBELIEVABLE!
Now I can't even cancel the booking because they say I bought it in advance. Of
course I did, so I'd have to time to make changes on my plans as necessary.
I will NEVER book at this hotel again. EVER!
And I do not recommend believing in ANYTHING they advertise.
Incredibly unsatisfied with their costumer service.
