We stayed here before our Carnival Cruise. Came a day early so we could do some
sightseeing around Vancouver. The staff was wonderful to us. The hotel is very
secure, you have to use your room key card to even use the elevators. Room was
spotless, bathroom was spotless, My husband used the fitness center. It's not
huge but had enough that he was happy with the equipment. There is a restaurant
in the hotel. The food was wonderful. We had a dessert and coffee. The desserts
were so big that we had to take half back to our room, they were to die for.
Dinner was wonderful and so was breakfast. Great food. When we had to go to the
Ship, there is a shuttle that will take you there. They also have bicycles at
the hotel it you want to use them. I would recommend this hotel.

We must agree with the last reviewer. We received a kitchenette with
refrigerator, stove, and microwave. The room was clean and comfortable. We found
the front desk very friendly, helpful and extremely responsive. Special thanks
to Shawn. Had a problem getting emails. They immediately sent a clerk to our
room to assist us. The shuttle was great. We would recommend this hotel as a
moderately priced place to stay.

Very nice staff friendly and helpful.
nice facility and location.
Shuttle could have been better. Takes you 'to' but not 'back'? No pickup at
cruise terminal? Understand that the airport may be too far but cruise terminal
is not.
One of the 3 rooms we had was small but Comfortable beds.

A friend and I stayed here for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We
had a room with a kitchenette which proved invaluable as we did not go for the
breakfast offer. By European standards, the room was enormous - two queen sized
beds with ample space on either side and enough work space for both os us and
our laptops. Internet speed was quite good. The room was neat, clean and modern
- a great place to return to after a long walking sightseeing. The wardrobe safe
was most welcome for our passports and ipods. Overnight parking is about $18
with tax.
Location-wise, the hotel is quite close to False Creek. A short water taxi ride
took us to Granville Island. The train station is not too far away. A 7-11 is
diagonally opposite the hotel for those little things - but it ain't cheap! I
didn't think the neighborhood was too bad.
My only niggle was the lack of friendliness from the reception. They were very
polite, but could have made me feel a little more welcome on my drenched
arrival, especially as I had walked six blocks in the pouring rain after a long
9-hour flight! A smile and a few words of welcome count nothing but speak
volumes.
Hot Tip: The hotel offers a free bike service but you are limited to two hours
only which is not enough to get as far as Stanley Park, so it is a good idea to
phone the hotel about an hour and a half into your time to see if they need the
bikes back. We did and were fortunate to be able to keep the bikes for another
two hours thus being able to do the entire perimeter of Stanley Park!
Overall, a great stay and would definitely come back here again!

This is the first time I have reviewed a hotel using TripAdvisor which should
immediately highlight my satisfaction of the stay.
I made a reservation at the Downtown Plus for my sister and niece who were
visiting me following my recent arrival in Vancouver - mainly this decision was
made as a consequence of the great feedback online and personal recommendations
from friends.
In retrospect, I can honestly state that the staff could not have done more to
accommodate my visitors and went out of their way to ensure they enjoyed their
stay. The hotel itself is well decorated, very clean and has the bonus of a
gym/hot tub/laundry facility on the Penthouse level - something you would not
expect at such a reasonable price.
I would like to thank the staff personally for all their efforts - I dealt
specifically with Coco, Luke and Lisa but have no doubts that the rest of the
team would have dealt with my queries/requirements equally as well. I am certain
to use this hotel again when I have visitors in town and can not recommend thier
service highly enough. BRAVO!
