Hotel Review of the Cascadia Hotel And Suites

Upon arriving at the hotel we were welcome by a very friendly and
helpful employee. Our stay was most pleasant and your hotel was chosen
by the rocky mountaineer. Since we had
chosen that trip for our 45th wedding anniversary ,we were presented by
the hotel with a nice card congratulating us and were pleasantly
surprise to see a nice basket of fruits on the last evening of our stay.
A most pleasant stay.

Waiting for a brand new day
This hotel is in the process of being upgraded, and fair enough - they
warn guests in advance that there is work being done to the exterior.
For a hotel this size, it seemed odd not to have a food and beverage
service establishment in the hotel - apparently they are looking to have
this established again soon. It would be unfair to criticize a place
which is clearly planning for a reopening - so I won't. Suffice to say
on the positive side that the rooms are positively cavernous - lots of
room, which might benefit just a little from upgrades to the television
- flat screens are no longer very expensive, and would be the icing on
the cake. The staff is unfailingly polite, and with a great sense of
humor - more so than you generally find at large chain hotels, and it's
a breath of fresh air. The value for money paid is definitely worth
mentioning - the hotel is, in a word, comfortable. I look forward to its
remodeled opening, when it promises to be both comfortable and quietly
stylish.
Area recommendations
Granville Island. This is a foodie town, and there's an amazing array of
food to be had in that neighborhood...

I only recommend this hotel if there WAS NO Renovations or construction
going on. If you stay during the renovations you won't be able to open
your curtains or look out your window. Works and scaffolding in front of
the building have people walking back and forth in front of the rooms.
No privacy and very creepy, between 9-5pm. If you were on holiday like
me and like to sleep in you here drilling and constructions works, so
forget about sleeping in.
However everything else is great, service, rooms, just all the exterior
construction just ruined my stay here. I was basically in a room with
closed curtains, the entire 11 nights. The breakfast buffet was decent
but the same sausages everyday...they could've at least alternated with
bacon or ham. This is a hotel if you want a kitchen, fridge, microwave
and the extended stay type room. Also free wireless and internet where
everyone else charges. Also the TV is old and only basic cable. It's
good for the price if you want something decent and a good area in
Yaletown/West End.

We chose to stay here after reviewing others comments and due to the
apparent value for money. We were pleasantly surprised, yes it looks a
little tired, but the room was a good size with a mini kitchen area and
was clean and comfortable. From our room we could even see the sea so it
wasn't too bad a view either across the city!
The only minor points are that the swimming pool was closed for
renovations and I wasn't advised this until check in. Also one of the
receptionists booked us a table for dinner at a local restaurant,
however, when arriving there in the rain we discovered the place shut!!
We made our way back to the hotel where they did apologies, well one
member of staff did and helped us find somewhere else for us to go and
then even paid for a taxi one way out to another restaurant! Now that's
what I call an apology.
Breakfast was pretty good and set you up for the day too. All in all a
good choice for us and our sightseeing and somewhere we would return
despite a couple of minor issues.

Great location, front desk staff very friendly, lobby attractive and
smelled really nice. Rooms have absolutely everything. Dishes, cutlery,
tea kettle, stove & microwave. even a dishwasher. Was clean, comfortable
beds and very quiet for being in the heart of downtown.
First Impressions (lobby, check-in staff, smell) are all first rated.
Once you check out, no access to elevators or restrooms via key access.

Hotel is located minutes from Granville Island, short taxi ride to pier,
within walking distance from downtown. Staff was very helpful with
questions/suggestions and made dinner reservations for us. Clean rooms,
comfortable bed. Full breakfast included which was well stocked and
maintained. Exceeded our expectations.
Treated extremely well by staff.
