Excellent service, fantastic staff. Stayed with my grandson as we enjoy the room service :) Hung out played with the puppies in the lobby all in all, always a pleasure.

This hotel is smack downtown, near some great restaurants and the waterfront.
Only issue is the dated room - yes it has character, but mould in your bathroom should not be happening in a Fairmont.
Unfortunately, we left too early in the morning to try any of the amenities. Locals mentioned that the spa in the hotel is one of the best in town.

This is a grand old hotel that has been kept up very nicely. Rooms have period furniture that is in good shape. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom had been recently renovated. Good service. This is not a hotel for people looking for a party and who like modern glass and steel buildings. Great wifi. One of the best wifi systems I have seen in a hotel.

Only strange thing that happened is at 6:00 PM the day before our departure we were in our room about to leave for dinner when someone from housekeeping came in and said she was there to make up the room (had already been serviced) because we had checked out. She showed up a list of vacant rooms. I called the front desk and they agreed we were not checking out until the next morning. Wonder what would have happened if we had not been there? Would we have returned from dinner to find out belongings gone and someone else in the room?

We extended our vacation with another couple after cruising to Vancouver and loved staying at this Fairmont. Debbie, the concierge, was most helpful and we loved seeing the two resident dogs - Mavis and Beau. Rooms were spacious and Tyler, who brought up our bags, went out of his way to help us with recommendations on where to eat. We ran into him a couple of times in the lobby and he always gave us suggestions which were all excellent. Great location in downtown and charming atmosphere.

As a Fairmont Club Member I have stayed at this hotel chain all over North America. The Hotel Vancouver is not only special in regards to historic value but has the friendliest, courteous staff I have ever experienced. I have many options in Vancouver but always choose this hotel. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the hotel is situated close to shopping, art galleries and beautiful walking trails along the ocean.

I love the old Canadian railway hotels which are now under the Fairmont Hotel banner across Canada. The Hotel Vancouver is a fantastic place to stay and has been a favorite for myself and my family for over 15 years. The public spaces (lobby, bar, etc.) are grand without being fussy. Many of the staff have been at the hotel for years. The gym and pool are great. The rooms are constantly updated without losing their historical charm. The location is fantastic and walking distance to everything in central Vancouver.
Why would you stay anywhere else?

We normally do not stay at more luxury hotels but this location and a special rate were to good to pass on. We received an upgrade to a corner room on the 12th floor with a grand view and it happened to be the 10k sun run weekend. What a sight. Wonderful bar and bar menu. A little pricey but decant portions. As hockey fans it was cool to be in that city. Many snack and dining spots nearby. Good for walking and people watching. Then there were the dogs; Beau and Mavis. If you have pets traveling without them is hard. Their wagging tails were a daily welcome sight.
