We picked this hotel because of its reputation for excellent service and
were well pleased. The front desk and concierge staff always greeted us
with a smile and went above and beyond to help us with restaurants and
sight seeing. We had a one bedroom suite which was bigger than my first
apartment. We loved the fact that the hotel provided umbrellas for us
since it rained throughout our stay. The hotel was convenient to
everything. We did a trolley tour of Vancouver which was set up by our
concierge and loved it. The trolley stop is right in front of the hotel
and our trolley driver announced to everyone on our tour that all movie
stars stay at Sutton Place when in town. Our tour group looked at us to
see if we were famous. We are not. We will definitely stay at this hotel
again.

Hotel was fine, we were offered free parking for taking a room that had
metal plates on the ceiling. Location is excellent, hotel was pretty
good. Staff excellent. Only disappointment was that I was expecting a
soaker tub and the actual tub only holds about a teaspoon of water.

All were fun. Gastown.

Fantastic establishment in a great location
The staff was very polite and the room was quite nice and well cleaned.
The balcony had a great view and the bed was very comfortable. Excellent
location. Enjoyed the live jazz at the hotel bar.

We will stay again
From check in to check out everything was great. We had a one bedroom
suite on the third floor. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet.
There was a full kitchen which we would have used if our stay had been
longer than one night . There is a full size market right across the
street so very convenient. Front desk very professional and courteous.
Robson street is right around the corner with all the wonderful shopping
and restaurants. All in all we were very pleased and would happily

We stayed at The Sutton Place Hotel (Grande Residences) for 5 nights
between Xmas and New Year 2010. Everything about the place was
outstanding - the location, the accommodation, the bar and restaurant
and most of all the staff. We had a 1 bedroom deluxe apartment, and
all-in-all it surpassed our expectations. We headed off to Whistler for
8 days and, as we were returning to Vancouver on the morning of the 8th
of January, but only flying back to Australia at midnight that night, we
decided to book a day room at Sutton Place, with the arrangement to
vacate at 6pm. At 5.45pm, one of the people in our travelling party
became ill enough that we needed to extend this time. After briefly
explaining the situation to the front desk, we were told that we could
have the room for as long as was necessary. The care and concern shown
by the staff was unbelievable. They facilitated the calling of a doctor
and offered assistance in getting to the hospital, phoning the room to
see if a wheelchair was needed, an ambulance or taxi was required and
generally if anything could be done.
As people who are lucky enough to be reasonably frequent travellers and
who have come to expect a certain standard of accommodation and service,
we cannot recommend this place highly enough. We have stayed in a
variety of hotels in Vancouver but would not stay anywhere else in
future. If any staff of this hotel get to read these reviews, they may
remember the events of that night. I say thank you from the bottom of
the hearts of all of us who were there.
As a point of interest, the other couple (with 2 young children) in our
travelling party stayed in a one bedroom king suite, which was enormous
and beautifully appointed. Their two young daughters slept on the
foldout couch in the lounge and I believe they were very comfortable. We
also had a family staying in a 2 bedroom apartment during the 5 days
that we were there and who who were equally impressed. I would be
delighted to answer any specific questions in regard to nearby
restaurants etc that we visited.
