This Historic hotel is in a great location for the Canada Place cruise terminal and Sky Train Station - Waterfront - all within walking distance or if the weather is bad a taxi costs under C$7 including tip. Also within walking distance for the Hop On Hop Off Vancouver Trolley tour and Gas Town and shops. Just around the corner is the Outlook, a saucer shape on top of a sky scrapper with a 360 degree view of the mountains, harbour and downtown Vancouver.
This hotel made us feel very welcome and it is well maintained with very clean comfortable rooms. Modern bathrooms with great showers and hairdryers. Freshly cooked hot food for breakfast with cereal, bread, bagels and muffins on offer as well as juice and fresh fruit.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and had answers to all our questions. The free wifi in the rooms was great so we could keep in touch with home. Some rooms have no view but a frosted window into a central courtyard. This let in adequate light and ventilation and we didn't mind this.
Friends joined us at this hotel and we stayed pre and post cruise having different rooms each time so 4 different rooms were used at this hotel during our visit to Vancouver. We enjoyed our time at the Ramada Limited Downtown and would return and can recommend

The hotel is conveniently located a ten minute walk from the Downtown train station. We stayed for two nights at the beginning of our Canada trip. We were given a small dark room (310), with a window which barely opened and had a brick wall behind it, hence the reason it was so dark. The bathroom was quite large with a large plastic shower enclosure instead of a bath. The first night we stayed there were people in the room next to us who kept us awake all night as the walls are paper thin and we could hear every word possible; they weren’t making any attempt to be quiet either. I had to put the television on quietly in the background to try to balance out their noise. The second night I don’t think there was anyone in the room next door, but we had a similar problem with the people in the room above. Our room rate included breakfast which was taken in the basement area. This consisted of toast, preserves, egg and pancakes, cereal, fruit juices some small cakes and a couple of pieces of fruit. Staff were friendly and helpful, happy to offer advice on the local area. The hotel corridors themselves smell very musty and are in general need of modernising but it was ideal for us with its location and reasonable price.

We stayed again at this hotel for the end of our trip and this time were given a room on the 5th floor, room 506. This room was like a completely different hotel (except the musty smell in the corridors), with 2 large windows which in the far distance you could see towards the dock. This room was much larger and whilst it had the same decor as the room we had previously stayed in, the natural light made it feel alot nicer. We were also able to have the windows open properly. It was however quite noisy and we were awaken at 6AM by noises coming from outside the hotel, it sounded like big dustcarts or something and went on for a good hour. Despite the checkout time being 12PM, housekeeping start banging on doors at 8AM so we were then woken again. Normally we would be up by this time having breakfast but as we had a late night flight back to London we wanted a bit of a lie in. As it was pouring with rain I called Reception to see if we could keep the room until 4pm so that we could head out into the City but then return for a quick shower before we had to make our way to the airport. I was told we couldn’t keep the room but they would give us another one for $100. Personally I thought this was disgusting, $100 for 4 hours, it wasn’t as though the hotel were busy, they could have offered us the room for an extra 4 hours no charge especially given how poor the weather was. They were however able to offer us storage for our luggage so we could go out in the day without dragging it around with us. Overall I would say this hotel is ideal for a flyby visit to Vancouver but request a room on a higher floor.

We were just looking for a place to sleep a couple of nights as we were out touring both days we were there. As others have stated, this hotel is in a really close to the ship terminal and Gastown. However, it's really in a seedy area; I'm not sure I would recommend that anyone stay there without a male escort. Our room did not have a window that opened and the air conditioner was right next to one bed, so that person would get frozen if it was left on all night. The staff was lovely and very helpful. The decor of the room was fine and they had free wifi. If the surrounding area was better I would rate it higher.

The hotel is about 30 minutes by car from the airport or about 10 minutes walk from the nearest station if catching the train. We had two rooms booked – for some reason one was different from the other and they weren’t next to each other eg. one had a mini fridge and a microwave and the other one didn’t. It had a musty smell but was generally clean. It had all you require from a hotel room like a comfortable bed and a flatscreen television. The bathroom was compact with a showerhead over the bath – which had a standard ‘white’ layout. The staff were friendly and helpful especially Rajiv. The hotel charged for parking – about $20 a night. Wouldn’t mind staying here again – although not sure about the drunks/homeless people wondering around close by.
