Guest Review of the Renaissance Vancouver Hotel Harbourside

Location was good, however found the hotel was quite dated for a "4 star" hotel.
I know I'm being picky but the room should be vacuumed if we are spending the
night, particularly with kids... Beds/pillows not comfortable, we found we
sinking into the middle of the bed. Pool was okay but disappointed the spa was
not in working order for the holiday weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Upon arriving in Vancouver, one day prior to our cruise departure, it was
apparent that the hotel we had booked was not in a good part of town.
Desperation set in and we hopped in a cab and headed back downtown to the
Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel.
Upon arriving, a young but very Professional and understanding Miss Amanda Bye
listened to our plight and got us into an amazing room at a last minute special
rate. She was extremely helpful and kind and in a world of not so great customer
service, Miss Bye exceeding all of our expectations and turned a very bad first
night in Vancouver into a very good one!
The rooms and views are breathtaking, looking out over the harbor, the location
is perfect, a few blocks from the Waterfront stop from using the SkyTrain from
the airport and it's just a one block walk down to the waterfront itself where
there is a plethora of restaurants and yummy eats such as gelato. The staff
overall are very accommodating and the buffet breakfast is top notch.
I would not hesitate staying here again on our next visit and I would hire Miss
Bye in a heartbeat if I owned any type of establishment.
Thanks again AMANDA!!!!

What a rubbish hotel.
Its right from the 70's.
Rip off parking, bad rooms with old school air con
Nice view but thats about it.
Staff are incompetent.
Did nto deliver my platinum welcome amenity. When I called they accused me of
lying. very odd.
I will NOT return.

In my almost weekly travels I stay at many nice hotels, but not every one
distinguishes itself with the superior customer service offered by the front
desk staff at this hotel.
Room Tip: North side Harbour view rooms seem the nicest.

It's nothing fancy but it really works as a business hotel. The rooms are fine
and if you get one with a view of the lake/mountains, it's much more than fine!
If you need to be downtown and/or near the Convention Centre, it's hard to beat
for the price.
Room Tip: Try to get a water-view room! |
