Had a girls' getaway and stayed in a beautiful room. The bathrooms are
spacious and GORGEOUS. Nice touch are the Nespresso machines to make
coffee, and the location can't be beat. A block away from the best
shopping in the city.
Everything is stumbling distance and the staff are very knowledgeable
and helpful.

The new Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver is just a fantastic property. The
entire stay was an experience more than just a hotel room. The spa is
especially wonderful.

I had the pleasure of staying in an Executive suite on the 8th floor (rm
811). Massive corner room with a sitting area, generous bathroom double
sinks, huge bed, wet bar nespresso coffee machine, mini foyer, and
walk-in closet. The swipe card is your key to everything electronic in
the room. Nothing is on or off - everything gently opens (the sheers and
drapes) or softly comes up (the lights in the bathroom or at the
spacious desk). Coolest light: the nigh light at ground level under both
bed sides tables. Very helpful. Massive marble bathroom, amazing tub,
3/4 floor to ceiling windows. A balcony that is protected from the wind
and rain but yet offers some Vancouver / ocean fresh air.
Stellar walk-in closet which conjures old Shanghai with a real clothes
brush, extended wooden shoe horn, and a real garment bag made of cloth.
Safe with a felt-lined jewelry tray. Pocket doors, magnetic door
hardware that once touching will trigger the light to turn off.
The main entrance way to the hotel is on Georgia which cannot be used if
you're arriving by car - weird. If you have a car, the entrance way is
mid-Alberni on the north side sort of hidden but obvious once you zip
past it about three times :) I have to say even though the car drop-off
area and check-in works, it's a little odd arriving at the beautiful
Shangri-la via the basement in a crumby car park.
Walking around: lots to do - Tiffany's, Chanel, Brooks Brothers, JJ
Bean, sushi, liquor store, church, banks, all in the area.
Staff: so exotic, polite, helpful, gracious, with a great combination of
style and a sense of humour.
Dog: (dog must be under 50lbs) I had my miniature poodle with me. No
problems. The hotel welcomed him: dog bed, dog bowls, and dog-love. Word
for your dog, there are no green spaces within 7 blocks. Closest
official dog park is at Nelson and Thurlow otherwise it's tree wells on
your way to JJ Bean for a mocha. Sorry pooch.Guest Reviews of the Shangri La Hotel Vancouver

Shangri-La is the best hotel in Vancouver , BC. There are many great
hotels that offer superior service, amazing food, within the downtown
area but only one hotel stands out in my mind as a truly paradise.

The Shangri-La Hotel is an oasis in downtown Vancouver. Elegant rooms,
attentive service and a very tranquil atmosphere. The perfect get-away.

I had the pleasure of enjoying the excellent accommodations for an
overnight business stay. The room was very well appointed, had excellent
views out of floor to ceiling windows and was a very much appreciated
respite from a long day.
The room was bested only by the staff and their pleasant demour and
excellent suggestions to best enjoy the city. On a playoff hockey night
in Vancouver the concierge was able to not only suggest an excellent
restaurant but phoned ahead allowing me to walk directly in to a waiting
table. I highly recommend the Shangr-La. |
