This was my second time staying here. And I loved it, it would have been
nicer if we had a room facing the ocean. But the bed was very cozy. And
the restaurant serves a very lovely breakfast. I would recommend the
blueberry pancakes to anyone. It's a half hour walk to the aquarium and
15min to Stanley park. Your right on the sea wall of the English bay
your very close to Granville island. Your very close to Denman street,
where there are very cute restaurants and stores.

This was the second time we stayed at the Sylvia. The service is top
shelf, the location is amazing and the staff is first-rate. Old world
charm and a very good value for your money.

We booked this hotel after reading other TripAdvisor reviews. This place
is spot on a fun place to be. Built in 1912 as a 77-room apartment
house, it boasts eclectic furniture in each room. Don't expect the
Waldorf here, but do expect something that won't disappoint. Besides,
it's right on the beach. Our room featured a small (perhaps unusually
so) bathroom with a painted over window that once looked into
who-knows-what.
The restaurant is reasonably priced but the food is better than that.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's within walking distance
(one block) from many varied restaurants on Denman Street. Parking is
underground accessible from Pendrell.

I stayed at the hotel with my wife and we had a drink in the bar. When
we went to pay, she added extra drinks to the bill. I told her simply,
there is something wrong with the bill, not further elaborating. She
replied "I know" took the bill back with asking what specifically was
wrong, then fixed the bill correctly. She basically knew she gave me a
padded bill. Was not happy with this at all. Poor service, understaffed,
padded bill.
Hotel itself was decent, good location, Spartan rooms.
