Guest Review of the Wedgewood Hotel Vancouver

We have been staying at the Wedgewood for over 20 years. We live in the
area and when we want a "mini-vacation", we stay at the Wedgewood, be it
for a Christmas shopping overnight or for an overnight to see a concert
or show.
There really is nothing to say except it is the best. They have seasonal
specials during the slow times, so you might want to take advantage of
these specials for your own local "mini-vacation".
Love this place.
Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking Robson Square.

I can only think of one negative for this hotel which is the size of the
gym. It is tiny wee and for the size of hotel I would have thought could
be double the size. One morning I couldn't even get in there.
Despite this minor complaint I have already booked back in for next
week. My bed is simply dreamy, the room super comfy and staff all
unbelievable. Great location. Already looking forward to coming back!
Room Tip: I would imagine they are all good.

I refer and book many of my business partners into the Wedgewood. Once
they have stayed there the first time, they will never stay anywhere
else in the Vancouver. The main attraction, other than the superb rooms,
food and overall service is the personal touch that they receive from
staying in a boutique property. Although I live in the City, it was a
distinct pleasure to stay in the hotel myself. It also is my preferred
restaurant for lunch or drinks after work. Highly, Highly recommended to
anyone visiting Vancouver.

My mother and I stayed at the Wedgewood for a one night stay at the
beginning of April, and we enjoyed the hotel very much. The service was
great from the bellman to the receptionist to the wait staff at Bacchus.
The rooms were very clean with and old-world decorating style. The
bathroom was bright and clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable.
When you arrive they give you a box of chocolates and at night they give
you cookies as part of a turn-down service (this was my mom's favorite
part!). The front desk staff was super friendly offering ideas of things
to see. They even exchange money at the same rate as the other exchange
houses around town. The Wedgewood is less than a block from Robson
Street so you are close to shopping and restaurants and do not need to
drive (they do have in-n-out valet service). I must say my favorite part
of our stay was the restaurant. We enjoyed a late-night dinner and
afternoon tea. The dinner in the lounge was nice. The food (I had pizza)
was delicious and we were entertained by live music from their piano
player. Near the end of the evening I wanted dessert, but was tired, so
they sent it up to my room for no extra charge. Afternoon tea was okay,
but not great. The food seemed fresh, but the each tea press only gave
you 1-2 cups before you need more water. I prefer High Tea at The
Empress in Victoria to be honest. Overall, I would recommend staying
here. I can see how it appeals to couples, but it works for a girls
weekend as well.

Splendid boutique hotel in a fantastic location. I had a beautifully
appointed deluxe King-bedded room with a view of Arthur Erickson"s
architecture and large soaker tub ensuite, in addition to the exquisite
bath with shower. The doorman is an absolute delight as are the cleaning
staff, young waitress and piano player in the lounge. Extra thoughtful
touches such as a welcome letter, generous array of chocolates and warm
cookies personally delivered by friendly room staff add to the congenial
atmosphere. Highly recommended.
