Fantastic location
This hotel is in a great neighborhood with ample amounts of delicious
restaurants to choose from. Plus it is only a couple of blocks from Stanley
Park. The rooms are a little dated but very large, comfortable and ours had a
kitchenette. I would stay here again.

great hotel
Found the staff polite, efficient and helpful on arrival. Room was great, clean
and housekeeping good. Good location for walking to stanley park, shopping, etc.
Some of the buildings surrounding a little grubby, but would stay again.
Area recommendations
Good area as close to park, beach, shopping, sea bus, etc.

Great location for the price
pros: convenient location on Denman St., affordable price, attentive staff cons:
slightly out-dated room amenities Location: it's on Denman and Comox. you have
great access to those restaurants on Denman St. and the scenery at English Bay.
The hotel is actually on top of the Denman St. Mall, so you have virtually
everything on the same spot. You will find everything from supermarket to UPS
store to restaurants to a movie theater without having to go outside. #5 stops
near the hotel and it will make it much easier to get around in downtown and
also when you wanna travel further into north or east Van because it stops at a
Skytrain station and other bus stops with a lot of bus routes. And there is 7/11
right across the street where you can buy your day pass for unlimited bus/train
ride. room: I booked the comfort room but they somehow gave us a spacious suite
on 17th fl. my friend and I both smelled light hint of cigarette smell when we
first entered but did not bother me (I am extremely picky on cigarette smells).
furniture's and appliances could look old but they were well-managed. They could
definitely get some new pillows though. ours were quite flat. There is a walkout
balcony but no tables or chairs. Wifi is free and you need to get the password
from the reception (they will ask if you need it).

I'll go back again
Took a chance on Expedia picking a hotel in the Vancouver area at a discounted
price. I wasn't sure where I would wind up, but I got an excellent deal on a
very nice hotel. The decor was a bit dated, but it looked like they had replaced
the windows and couch recently. The hotel was clean and the room was a perfect
temperature on a snowy day and I didn't have to touch the thermastat at all. The
bed was comfy and the room had a neat layout-kitchenette and a sitting area with
the couch (also comfy). The room had a great view and the location was
great....you can walk anywhere downtown. I would definitely stay there again.
Parking isn't cheap, but parking in Vancouver can be a hassle. The underground
parking was extremely clean and seemed very safe with an on-site parking
attendant.

Good dollar value
Good Value for the dollar. Parking was $25/night though which I thought was a
little much, but I guess City prices. The overall room was good and spacious and
the bed comfortable. Furnishings a little dated, but overall for the price it
was good.

This older hotel is in good shape. Staff seem very congenial and attentive. We
were upgraded to great bonus... a kitchenette and ocean view. One block from
English Bay and a mile from Stanley Park.
Enjoyed the (rather cool) pool and hot tub downstairs.
Booked 6 weeks ahead when advertised as a best bet on travel zoo. |
