Guest Review of the Comfort Inn Vancouver
Nov 14, 2010
stayed 2 nights a Friday and Saturday and didn't experience any of the
noise problems I expected to. For such a great rate and great location i
was extremely happy with the room, entire building including rooms was
very up to date. All staff were very friendly helpful and knowledgeable
special consideration to Jesse on the front desk made my weekend much
more enjoyable. I have worked in hotel industry for years and am
typically very critical of hotels but I found nothing to criticize. I
will be back

Good Service, But it is Noisy
The service is good. They are friendly. However, they have a bar on the
first floor, and I stayed on second floor. It was so noisy, and the bar
open until 3 AM, and I was awaken around 5 or 6 times at night until 3
AM they close. The sound insulation is also bad. I even know Mark and
Nick stayed next room to mine. They talked as normal volume, but I just
can hear it. And at the only night I stayed there, a couple was arguing
each other in the hallway. Some of the people were just drunk. After
around fifth time being awaken by noise, I went to lobby to request
changing room, but they said the rooms were all booked at the night and
they gave me two pairs of ear plugs. I think that is my first ever
experience put the ear plug on and sleep in the hotel. Next morning,
they waive my parking fee. I think their service is friendly, but if you
ask me if I want to stay there again, I properly won’t.

Check in with Patrick- excellent
lucky to get bright 2 double glazed windowed room, Granville Street very
noisy
lucky? - yea, because:
1)windows on Nelson Street not double glazed
2)rooms on 1st floor hear noise and vibrations from pub beneath
3)some rooms on all floors face a narrow air/light shaft, so view is
hostel windows
4)very noisy ice machine only on floors 2 & 4 and rooms near them would
certainly hear the noise
Housekeeping:
When found bed short sheeted, Ian immediately came with diff sheets and
quickly remade bed.
Meeting with Neil Deshmukh, general mgr and head of housekeeping next
morning to complain about short sheeted beds (both were) and that my bed
was NOT TO BE TOUCHED SINCE IAN REMADE IT. Sure enough, that night when
i returned, it had been remade and short sheeted again. Called desk,
Samantha who said she would bring me the sheets but would not help me
with the bed.
Obviously hotel policy is to short sheet the beds, which i find
disgusting, and makes my skin crawl.
same paper on floor for 4 days.
Amenities (or lack thereof)
nice big flat TV
coffee/tea maker
nice breakfast set up in the pub
thin scratchy towels
no frig
no clothes line over tub
short flight of stairs at entrance might be a problem for some with
heavy baggage
Neighborhood- noisy street @ night - bars, pubs, clubs, often crowded
with (mostly) young drunks, in addition to panhandlers and hookers.
If it had not been the issue of short sheeted beds, which is disgusting,
my review would have been much more positive.

I just got back from Vancouver and i am not picky about places to stay.
Everything was booked and it was one of the few to pick from. Positives:
Great breakfast in the pub.
Negatives: VERY SMALL double beds - they are more like singles, very
small room. The room stunk of some sort of cleaner, and so did our
friends next door. Only good thing is the location, if your wanting to
go out and party - or people watch and don't mind very noisy area this
is the place to be, just off of Granville. Pub downstairs noisy on the
weekend could hear it upstairs.
The price after parking included came out to $145.00 for the room,
parking lot had a security guard which was good as it was not fenced or
anything.
would i stay here again? if i was in a pinch and couldn't find anything
yes, as it includes breakfast, but definitely would look for something
else first.
oh and wifi wasn't the greatest and only one computer in lobby to use.
