Guest Review of the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel Vancouver

Stayed here for a few nights while in town for a conference. The hotel is
essentially what you would expect from the "Fairmont" brand of hotels. It is
well appointed and most of the finishing's are high-end and high-quality. The
best feature of the hotel is the location. It's right at Canada Place, which
makes it perfect for just about everything in the city.
The standard rooms are standard "business" style rooms. They are clean and have
comfortable beds, although the room I had was starting to show its age. The
curtains were very old and in need of replacement.
That being said, the hotel is excellent in all other ways. Great service, great
location, and decent food options inside the hotel.
If you need a large fitness center, then this is not the place for you, as it
only has a very small fitness room with a handful of machines.

This was a wonderful experience. The room had breathtaking views of the harbour.
The hotel had thoughtfully left a small set of binoculars (every room has
these?) for you to check out the harbour activity. A set of running shoes and
exercise gear along with a running route were also available. The room was
spacious and had many other thoughtful touches (a living plant!!!).
Generous-sized bathroom, too with very nice products.

We were in Vancouver for a couple of days to do some shopping and I had a
business meeting to attend. The Fairmont Waterfront was our choice because of
location in the downtown sector.
From the greeting at the front door to our leaving we were impressed by the
quality of service, cleanliness of the hotel, atmosphere and professionalism of
the staff.
What impressed us the most was the Herons Restaurant staff. I have a onion
allergy.
When I mentioned this to our server she said she would tell the kitchen. This
happens quite often when mentioning my allergy. What does not happen is when the
server came back she brought the chef to talk to me. After a short discussion he
said he could adjust my entree choice with no problem. He also went through the
trouble of creating a salad for my appetizer choice that was no longer on the
menu.
I have eaten at a lot of high end restaurants (and not so high end) where they
have been very accommodating for my allergy but this was the first time the chef
actually came out to talk to me about it. KODOS to the server and the chef for
going that one step further.
I can't say enough about how impressed my wife and I were for the level of
service we received during our stay at the Waterfront.
All round service, quality of food, great atmosphere, fantastic view from our
room will bring us back again to the Waterfront.

The staff went out of their way to make my birthday a very special memory. If
you are privileged enough to stay at this establishment, be certain to see where
they keep their bees. The staff are attentive to detail and are concerned about
the comfort of their patrons. I highly recommend staying here.

The Fairmont Hotel Waterfront is located next to the harbour in the centre of
Vancouver. The Convention Centre is next to the hotel. My room was spacios but
it should be refurbished in the next time! One can see everywhere that the hotel
is not any more the newest. Furthermore, the quality of the breakfast was only
standard and it seemed to me overpriced!

Stayed 6 nights for a conference. I thought the concierge was exceptional. Gala
Dinner in main room was unreal. Room was always clean and great location to
convention center. |
