This place is fantastic! Clean, quiet and a gem in the West end. We stayed in the executive suite which has a king bed, dining area, kitchen and living room. This is a small apartment with all you need right there. Everything is close by to walk, beach, dining, etc. Just wont stay in a big hotel chain if I want to be in the West end. We took a short walk to nearby Sanifir for dinner and did not need to worry about having a few drinks becasue of the excellent location. And, private gated parking at no cost! I can not think of one bad thing to say aobut Sunset Inn!

Ok it's not the Marriott, but who needs to pay the price, I have stayed at the Marriott, the Pan Pacific Opus, Hilton, most of them, and truthfully for cost and convenience and comfort, this is the best I have found. For me it's 5 star, because it's just perfect. It's a very nice boutique hotel, so don't expect the Hilton, room service and all that, but it comes with free internet, free safe parking, free local calling, complimentary breakfast, Starbucks is around the corner, everything is just around the corner. It's five min. to catch the little ferry to Granville Island, Beach and other places,
Love it! Tthis is my place from here on in. I almost hate to share it, I want to be able to stay there when I want to. M & W Fields Nanaimo BC

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in a studio suite, and were more than impressed by what we got for what we paid for. We had stayed in a number of hotels on our holiday, and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The suite was a great size, the bed more than comfortable, and in a great location to access everything we wanted to see.

Probably the only notes were the fridge and oven in our suite was a little dated, but as we didn't use either in the end it didn't bother us (the food choices in Vancouver were too good to pass up!) And the placement of the breakfast bar was a little in the way - if you happen to go downstairs for food the same time as everyone else, it gets very crowded, and it's hard to make your way around.

Other than that, we had a terrific stay, and would recommend to anyone travelling to Vancouver to stay here. If we ever make it back to Canada, we definitely will!

Stayed here for 8 days and was very pleased with our accommodation. Had a one bedroom apartment which was well equipped, very spacious and comfortable. Staff were friendly, approachable, helpful and very happy to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for their city. Thoroughly recommended.

We stayed at the Sunset for 9 days. Fabulous location, easy walk to the ferry to Granville Island, Seawall walk , fairly easy walk to Stanley Park, downtown, whatever you need. Any kind of food you might want is within easy walk. The rooms are clean and well appointed. As previously reviewed, continental breakfast is sparse but reliable and you can easily supplement from local markets as you have a full kitchen. Staff is wonderful, friendly and helpful. The only complaint - unless you are there for the nightlife and are out until the late hours, if you have a room facing the back alley and therefore busy Davie St - you will be up until the wee hours hearing screaming and yelling until the bars close. And then in the early AM, dumpster crashing and delivery trucks as there are at least 4 restaurants in the immediate vicinity whose trash is all in the alley under your window! Bring your earplugs or be smart enough to ask for a room facing Burnaby St.. The noise factor disturbed each night's sleep, damaging what would have been the perfect holiday. We would say there again, but only in a room facing quiet Burnaby St.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing Burnaby St.
