I stayed here on business for a week in October. We were upgraded to a
suite with a fabulous view of the water. The room had 2 very comfy beds
and 2 tv's with a mini fridge. The closet was in the hall unlike some
other rooms having it in the bathroom. Bathroom door didn't lock which
shocked my roommate when she opened it not realizing I was there.
Internet is pricy as is the parking though our convention paid for this
for us. It was a bit if a hassle that the parking is located across the
street so if you needed to go to your vehicle you had to gear up for the
pouring rain. $36 to park is enough to keep me from coming here on my
own, as is the $15 Internet fee. If money is no object, it's a great
hotel.

We are currently staying at the Westin Bayshore. My husband is attending
a conference here and I'm with him. We've stayed at quite a few not up
to par hotels as we've lived and travelled through the Canadian Arctic
and anyone who has knows what I'm talking about. So here's my rant about
the Bayshore. The room is dusty, there's hand prints all over the glass
doors just begging for some Windex, same with the mirror in the bed area
and the bath area. DUST is everywhere. The curtains are stained and in
need of a good wash. They apparently charge a "nominal fee" for internet
which is 15.00 a day which is ludicrous and not nominal at all. Parking
was 36.00 a day for the parking garage across the street now I think
it's gone down to 18.00 for the conference. The check in woman was
unfriendly. The valet guys are great, so far the only service we've seen
was from them from helping with our bags to just being friendly. We are
travelling with our dog, so maybe they put us in a bad area of the
hotel? But for what they charge a night, come on now. My husband usually
is a non complainer but from the elevators being out of service and the
poor quality of the rooms even he's said this is unacceptable for a
hotel that makes itself out to be a luxury accommodation. I remember
being here with my mom for a luncheon 15 years ago and I was amazed by
the lobby and how everything had changed and I really expected more from
the rooms. Even the bathroom isn't up to par, really just a small
shower? My expectations were not met here and I'm pretty easy to please.
My friends have told us the Fairmont Waterfront is the place to stay
next time we'll take their advice.

I stop at the Westin not long ago. I was allocated in a twin room in the
main building. The was comfortable, clean and was just great. They had
services that changed your bed covers everyday!. It was a beautiful view
and there is a cafe practically round the corner, (VERY NICE CAFE). If
you didn't want to walk, the Westin do provide a shuttle from 9am-5pm
(or roundabout). Also, ALL members of staff were extremely friendly and
are willing to help. However, the only downfall is that things are quite
expensive in the hotel. ($6 for a can of coke) But, i loved my stay and
its a truly great hotel, in a beautiful city!

The staff at this hotel are the best -the rooms are all great and you
are close to Stanley Park - I love the fact that you have a mini fridge
for your own use.

This hotel is the best location right on the sea wall and across from
Stanley Park. It is also very close (5 blocks) to Robson street. Ask for
a room in the tower that faces north for the best views!
