Great service... may need earplugs
We originally got the "superior view room". It’s an engineering marvel, like the
Coliseum, in that every sound from inside and outside the hotel is amplified
into that room. To Best Western’s credit, they transferred us to a different
room (on the back side of the hotel) with no BS, and this room was WAY better.
This hotel is RIGHT in the midst of the bar/club action on Granville Street;
they close the street down to cars in the evenings on weekends, so be prepared
for everything that comes along with that. The noise is a minus. The frequency
of buses, and the ability to obtain something like pizza on foot in 5 minutes is
a plus.

We stayed at the Best Western Hotel Chateau Granville in a large party of adults
and teenagers, for the purpose of showing our out-of-province visitors the
sights of Vancouver. The hotel accommodated our every wish, and the convenient
location enabled us to access venues like the Vancouver Aquarium, Science World,
Chinatown, and Gas Town with ease. The rooms were spotless, and underground
gated parking was a bonus. This is a great hotel with unbeatable value for
money!

Convenient & reasonably priced Vancouver hotel
I had planned a trip to Vancouver with my 20 year old daughter and her best
friend to celebrate my daughter’s 20th birthday. We had planned this trip on a
whim, so we couldn’t spend a lot of money, yet we wanted to find a hotel in
downtown Vancouver that was walking distance from places like Yaletown, etc so
we wouldn’t need a rental car or cabs to get around. After much research and
calling, we were referred to the Best Western Hotel Chateau Granville and it
turned out to meet our needs exactly. Definitely a "no frills" place, but for
the price, service and location, this hotel gave us everything we needed and was
clean and simple with very helpful and efficient people at the check in desk.
There is also a restaurant/bar downstairs that had a great Salsa band playing on
Thursday nights and apparently the locals frequent this place to take advantage
of the music and we had a great time watching them Salsa dance the night away
here. You should note that this hotel is located right on "the strip" (Granville
where many clubs, tatoo shops, etc. are) so it is not the quietest area in
downtown Vancouver, but If you want the nightlife and want to be near the clubs,
etc., this is a reasonably priced hotel in downtown Vancouver that will fill
your needs

The room was nice and the location was ideal. But you have to be really careful.
We were supposed to have a view of the courtyard but when we got there our room
has covered windows because they are 6 inches from the building next door. There
is also a tower which would have a view so if you stay here, you want to call
and verify. I would not ever stay again because I do want a view. If you don't
care about a view, the hotel is 15 mn walking distance to everything downtown.

I stayed at the
Chateau Granville hotel with my wife and another couple for two evenings.
The hotels was clean, spacious and located near many restaurants, bars, music
venues and shops. I will certainly stay again.

Was billed on my credit card before even checking out. Probably due to the
locale. The parking is underground but not secure you can tell by the numerous
signs warning of theft. Stayed in the courtyard.. You are literally in the
alley. When you first open the gate it isn't too bad but the rooms are horrible.
The room is on an angle, you have to deal with a slope which is a testament to
it's quality. It is very noisy, paper thin walls. Prey you avoid a room beside
the 90 year old ice machine. The hotel exterior looks like a victim of the
industrial revolution, as though it had coal coughed on it. This Eco friendly
hotel has plastic cups.. Wrapped in plastic and hid the recycling bin in the
closet. Maybe the biggest waste of hotel dollars. Spend 10 more and stay
somewhere worthwhile. The guy who showed us where the room was and the parking
was the lone bright spot.
