Staff was very friendly. Ten minute walk from Granville St. Some
great bars and clubs in that area. Close to Stanley park. Bill,
the shuttle driver is a great guy. He knows his stuff and is
very punctual.
Friendly staff and great location.
Lack of wireless internet access.

The complimentary water, breakfast, and internet were awesome.
It's near the stadium and Chinatown.
The rooms were spacious with the flat screen, microwave and
fridge. The room was clean upon arrival as well.
The negatives were the underground parking since the handicapped
space is on the bottom level (P3) instead of the top one (P1).
It's quite hard for a handicapped person to drive in a pretty
tight garage. Instead of having parking for small cars they
should make it for handicapped people.
The second negative is the breakfast even though it's free. They
need to put the breakfast in a larger space since it was packed
when I went. I didn't see such offerings like bacon like other
reviewers reported.
The price seems to be pretty high for this property but it was
at $155 for NYE which is VERY cheap when comparing it to other
similar properties. Being a city hotel though not surprised it's
a bit more expensive. However, don't forget to have an
additional $19 daily fee for parking.

Our family needed a place to stay prior to boarding a
Cruise to Alaska. We got a nice two room suite, so the teens
stayed in one room and parents in another.
The room had a mini kitchen and with the addition of a rollaway
bed, plenty of room for all 4 of us. Breakfast was both ample
and had great variety. Eggs, yogurt, cereal, fruit, waffles. My
only complaint was it was overcrowded and hard to get a table.
The hotel was also close to the
Stadium Street
Skytrain Station where we disembarked so the cab ride was
reasonable. I am only sorry we didn't have more time to explore
Vancouver.

Was in Vancouver for a special concert given by a friend of
mine, who told me that this is the place to stay. I am from the
US originally, and when I think of Hampton I think of a suburban
type hotel. Suburban this isn't. All the good amenities of a
Hampton, with great service, and an excellent location as well.
(I feel like I'm in one of those Holiday Inn commercials.) I had
a great time here.

Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel. It had a great
location, and we were able to walk pretty much anywhere in
Vancouver (Granville
Island Vancouver,
Robson
Street shopping,
Chinatown). The
hotel was close to downtown, but the immediate neighborhood was
quiet, which I liked.
The staff was friendly, and the hotel had some extra touches
which made it stand apart from a typical
Hampton Inn. I liked
that they provided an umbrella and bottled water in the room
every day. I also liked the availability of the free shuttle.
Breakfast was pretty typical, but I was turned off that it was
only offered until 10 am. This may be a Hampton-wide rule
though, because I experienced the same thing in NYC. I like that
Hampton offers the breakfast-to-go option; this came in handy on
our last day.
The hotel was expensive, but the prices were comparable to other
hotels in Vancouver. Not much you can do about that.
I also liked the use of the 16th floor as a gym and balcony.
I've experienced hotels where the gym is in a stale windowless
room, this was bright and airy. The coin laundry was up there
too, with a terrace so you can at least get some air.
I found the temperature in the room difficult to control. If I
was warm and lowered the temperature, in a few minutes I would
be freezing, and vice versa. This was my only real complaint.

When staying in Vancouver I've always chosen between Pacific
Palisades (which is no longer), a
Sheraton
or a Westin
. I use to
stay at this Hampton back quite a few years ago when I was in
town a lot. It was a great hotel then and its still a great
hotel now. The staff at the front are always so helpful their
customer service skills are exceptional.
Since the renos this hotel is really great especially if your
taking in a Canucks
game which is a quick walk down Beatty street
to the game. Fantastic. The breakfast is a nice treat also!!!
Great comfy, exceptional hotel! Keep up the great work!
