This hotel is in a good location, easy access to Granville Island
Aquabus and all of downtown walking. We liked the location although at
night it was a bit sketchy on Granville and Helmcken. It also looks like
there is a half-way house/shelter one block away on Howe. None of that
really bothered us. The hotel is older and trying to renovate. We had
new furniture, bathroom fixtures, paint, and carpet in the room but the
doors were old and chipped, and the room had popcorn like ceilings. You
could still see the age. The halls were a bit noisy, as this hotel
seemed to have lots of 19-somethings there to party, and we could hear
talking next door. At night we never heard a thing and it was very
quiet! Overall, no issue with noise.
The parking was tight and the garage costs $20 per night. The height
limitation is 6 feet. Our 4-Runner fit just fine.
The lobby bar was a fine spot to go and get a drink. The bartender was
really funny and fun to talk to. The bar closes around 9 but the
bartender stayed late on both nights we were there because there were
people in the bar.

I traveled to Vancouver for a 2 month work trip. Company booked this
hotel for a week just for me to settle a I later moved to a rental
place. The one week stay was average since it is an average hotel. The
only thing is the location because my business meeting are near the west
side of downtown. However, it is very close to Davie street and you can
find a lot of great restaurants there. For the price, it is pretty good
place to stay, but don't expect luxury

Stayed here for two days with the family during our vacation in
Vancouver. Received a great rate of ~$72 a night per room which were
both basic double rooms since it was a F&F rate. The rooms were a bit
dark would be nice if better lighting was offered. The rooms were still
somewhat spacious. The location was superb since it was just one block
away from Granville St. The rooms were also quite noisy since it's close
to the clubs and nightlife spots. Parking was available for PC members
upon entrance into the garage which was a nice touch since I'm a PC
member.

I was not happy with two things though. The first being the free
internet, I understand it's being upgraded/renovated right now but it
was VERY slow during the day while disconnecting at times. I'm also not
happy with the happy hour that included appetizers I was entitled to as
a PC member at the lounge on the main floor. Why I wasn't happy was
because there was NO appetizers since it was the holidays. However, I
received a letter upon check-in which said there was appetizers and I
was able to enjoy around 5PM? Why not edit the letter beforehand if it
is not being offered? My family and I waited in the couches outside the
lounge for around 15-20 minutes too since we weren't sure if the lounge
was actually open as well. Would be nice if signs were put up or
employees would approach guests who seem to be confused with things like
us. I understand it's a HI not a IC hotel but little things like that
can boost a hotel's reputation like no other.

Have stayed here 3 times on business and pleasure. Location is good - v.
close to Granville Island and short walk to Downtown. There were 2 or 3
fire alarms (full evacuation of the hotel) in a 4 day stay and the mini
bar, in addition to the usual drinks + snacks included condoms. I
wouldn't stay again with family and dislike the implication as a
business traveller. Will try a different Holiday Inn next visit.

Location of the property was great, close to everything, and the price
was right! Was upgraded on arrival, and taken great care of by the
staff. The staff all seemed kind, and as if they enjoyed their jobs. The
room was verfy comfortable, bed was super comfortable, made for great
sleep. Can't beat what Holiday Inn is doing to their brand, great value,
free internet, comfortable, well maintained, if not renovated rooms.
Room service food was delivered quickly and hot, and the staff was kind.
Food was good too. I travel a lot, and at the end of the day, want a hot
shower, comfortable bed and good room service, and Holiday Inn Vancouver
provides just that. Not to mention the well equipped fitness room, and
comp parking. I always stay here, and will be back again in March 2011.

Great central location
The hop-on, hop-off bus stopped right across the street (as did public
transit bus). Well appointed hotel with adequate restaurant and bar.
Security was good - need room key for elevators, and security guard on
site - though I’m not sure why it would be needed, as we were downtown
near office buildings and shops

Not Bad
The room was clean , the maids were very friendly, it’s close to
shopping and restaurants, The only complaint we had really was that it
was a bit cramped the furniture was poorly placed and maybe even too
large for the room. Other than that for the price it was a good deal!

Good Hotel, Great Location
The location was great, can walk to anywhere in downtown Vancouver. The
hotel itself was reasonably priced and met all of our expectations,
clean, comfortable and the staff was friendly.

Comfortable large rooms . We had a business room on a higher level.
Plenty of space - clean and comfortable. Wireless internet free but in
the rooms not good service - had to go out into the hall and downstairs
to see the AFL grand final - take 2!! Underage teenager so couldn't go
to the sports bars - a true Collingwood supporter!! Great shopping
streets near by. Hop on Hop Off bus a great way to see sights. Granville
Island and Stanley Park were great and could have spent more time if we
had it. Breakfast not included but easy access to great places downtown.
Restaurant OK at the Hotel. No complaints here.

I stayed here with my mom and aunt for a short weekend. The location was
located close to the ferry to Granville island and just 10 min away from
the shopping centers downtown. The pool was deep which was nice but we
had to call for towels. The sauna never got really hot either. The
onsite restaurant was very good, but not wonderful. For breakfast i
recommend going to the twisted fork around the corner but get there when
it opens or you will have to wait. I found the best deal through

Stayed at the downtown Holiday Inn on Howe street while down on
business. I found the hotel clean & the staff very friendly and helpful.
Also the location of this property is perfect for anything happening
downtown.
