This is a disaster hotel. It is worn out, cheesy and not in downtown.
Nothing.
Worn out 60's/70's hotel.

Older Holiday Inn property and not in downtown. Breakfast buffet
available ($12), several good alternatives within a block. Very nice
staff. Panoramic view and excellent sunset from pool level balcony (pool
is inside) as well as from room. On same side of bridge as Granville
Island (15-20 minute walk) but a good $15-20 cab ride to Stanley Park
and other sites.
Staff was nice; decent eateries and Charleston Park nearby.
Difficult location without car.

We purchased a 2 night stay at this hotel thru a charity auction...there
is no way I would have paid the rack rate. The room was incredibly clean
but this hotel is old and tired. They are in the process of doing
renovations and hopefully the upgrades will make a difference but I
guess it depends on how far they go.
We stayed on the 9th floor and the single pain windows were so poor, we
could hear the audible signal for the crosswalk (all night long), The
ice machine wasn't too far from our room and like the crosswalk, we
could hear it every time someone got ice.
Our room was a reasonable size - the beds (2) were comfortable enough as
was the bathroom...very clean. We only had the A/C - Heater on long
enough to bring the room to temperature as it was quite noisy. A mini
fridge and microwave would have been nice.
Breakfast was included and it was more than adequate - the staff in the
restaurant was very good.

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights at the end of our 2 month trip around
the world. We have experienced many different hotels and found the
Holiday Inn to be one of the best in the way of comfort. Although the
decor is in need of being updated it doesn't detract from the spacious
rooms and bathrooms and very comfortable bed. The staff are very
friendly and will go out of their way to assist you if needed. The view
from our bedroom was stunning, although there was a tower crane as part
of the view. Be sure to check out
www.allure-hotels.com that when looking for the best rate. Next time I come to Vancouver I will definitely stay at the
Holiday Inn Vancouver Centre.
