Not fancy, but good value if you are here for a few days. We were seeing
the sights prior to departing on a cruise to Alaska and it was fine.
Staff is very friendly and accommodating especially Mihaela on the front
desk.
Downsides: lumpy pillows (my poor neck....!!!); need towel racks in the
bathrooms (it's a concept); hallways are tired (it's an older building);
elevators are a nightmare and need to be updated...... hope you like
stairs...!!!

We went to Vancouver to celebrate our son's Birthday. The hotel where we
usually stay downtown (5*) was completely booked, as were all the others
in the area. Apparently a very large convention in the city. Booked this
hotel through a very well know website (4 star hotels at 2 star prices!)
and was reallly expecting to get that 4* hotel and not the 2 that it
really should be rated.. ( This hotel was the same price I normally pay
for the 5* too!) I have ALWAYS used that website and never had a
disappointment until now.
Hotel and parking area were hard to find. We arrived around 9:00 p.m. to
a rainy and dark welcome. Drove past the hotel twice as we did not see
the sign. Had to use my cell phone to phone the hotel to get directions
and to get to their parking. Unmarked parking directions were into a
dark and sketchy alley. Parking was between the sides of two buildings
with about 30 poorly marked spots. When we parked a man came up to the
car and told us to straighten out the car because parking was limited,
and to remove all valuables.. He turned out to be the manager.
We checked in, waited for the terribly slow elevator to our room, which
ended up being 1st floor. The hallway out of the elevator smelled very
old and musty. Out of our room window, it looked like some sort of
alleyway with great ground level, crawl -in access to hotel room
windows, a stairway to who knows where, and gross cement walls covered
in green slime from so much moisture. We pulled the drapes, which on one
window, did not even go to the edge, dropped our bags and went for
dinner. When we came back later, I sat down on one bed, to find staring
at me on the night table, a chewed piece of gum that surely the maid
could not have missed. Perhaps it was waiting for her there when she
cleaned tomorrow. Next morning, while sitting at the desk, I also found
some dead flowers hanging out next to the tv. Maybe they were my welcome
gift! That morning, there was a lineup at the desk, so did not tell them
until we returned from the day out, of the lovely little things we
found. Front desk lady was appalled and told her manager. She apologized
a couple of times, and gave us complimentary brkfst vouchers for next
day. We appreciated that. The manager did not seem overly impressed, but
came up to the room with me to dispose of the items himself. When the
maid supposedly cleaned the bathroom she also shorted us a bath towel,
which we did not find out until the next morning, so one of us got to
use 2 hand towels after a shower. Thank goodness she remembered to leave
those! The first night there, two of us spotted hair on the shower wall
and one lovely long dark one hanging on the side of the toilet paper
holder. They were there for our entire visit.
We did not find any noise issues outside, but the people above us
sounded like circus elephants when they started their day at 4:30 a.m.
The location of the hotel was quite good. Close to everything which was
a very nice after the disappointing room. We were supposed to have a
microwave in room, but it was not there and we did not feel like going
through the hassle of asking for one. The fridge was shut off when we
arrived, but it did work. It moaned like a very unhappy ghost though.
The beds did seem to be fairly comfortable. The comforters seemed as
though they had been washed and all the stuffing lumped up in each
square, and it was left like that. Quite a useless blanket if you ask
me. A/C was rather pitiful. We found the room very muggy with still air.
We turned on the a/c and it turned itself off. We tried the fan in the
unit, but it was not enough to cool the room either.

Do not stay at this hotel. I am a seasoned traveler; in the last 6
months I have spent 33 nights in hotels in 8 different countries around
the world and this hotel was the absolute worst.
They are right next to a night club, which they do not tell you on the
website nor when you check in. The music starts at 10:30pm and ends at
3am. I was on the 5th floor and not only did the music wake me up but
the bed was actually vibrating from the bass. When I called the front
desk the only thing they offered was ear plugs. I have never had such a
bad experience, it was worse than sleeping in at a youth hostel in
college.
When one of only two elevators was out not working I could deal with
that, I could put up with the small rooms, I could handle the fact that
my ironing board was broken, but all of that on top of the VERY loud
club keeping me up all night was just too much.
Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and hands down one of the worst hotels in
the world. You're better off sleeping in your car.

My partner and i stayed in the Ramada inn for a week at the end of april.
this is nice hotel in great location. our hotel room was ok, it was
small enough with nice bathroom. the pillows were terrible for trying to
sleep on and the noise from outside didn't help.. Granville street is
the main night club/pubs in downtown and it does get noisy our hotel
room was on the 6th floor facing the street so it was very noisy at the
weekend and when the Canucks won the hockey :)
We had a few wee problems i.e key card for room broke while we were
there and needed to get management to let us into our rooms. this was
only for 1 night and management were very helpful and professional..
Over all i would recommend this to hotel to a young couple i.e 18-30 who
would be out and about enjoying the night life. its very cheap hotel
with very helpful staff who are there to help.. there is just a wide
range of hotels in this location thats my reason for not going back

This is a great hotel. They have just remodeled the lobby and it looks
great. Very sophisticated. Mihaela was there to greet me and gave me a
very comfortable room. Its clean, quiet, the duvet is like rolling in
feathers. It's close to all the highlights and things to do in
Vancouver.
Really enjoyed my stay.
