For 80 bucks a night, I was a little worried, we have a lot of shows
this month, so we downgraded to a less expensive hotel. The actual
location is slightly scary, but you are literally 3 blocks from Georgia,
which makes it super convenient, we were going to The Q.E.T. so it was a
600m walk
If you are a middle aged woman, who has no sense of adventure , and want
to be pampered, don't stay here. You should already know that, by the
word " limited " in the title, this isn't the hotel for you.
If you are a concert goer, hockey fan, or a busy vacationer, who plans
to actually " live " on your vacation, this is the hotel for you.
If you are planning on hanging out in your hotel all day, I don't
recommend it.
However, secure floors, super comfortable king bed, great water
pressure, and a free breaky is your idea of what you want in a hotel,
the Ramada Limited is for you. Even a huge storage room for you to lock
up your stuff the next day, for day trips, after check out.
My wife and I even had the opportunity to help out a guy , having a hard
time with the slush in his wheelchair, and an older woman caught up in
the snow. Sometimes, seeing the world from the opposite side of the
street can enhance your holiday.
And if you like quality food , check out Gorilla vegan raw foods around
the corner, for a nice healthy veggie lunch !Guest Reviews of the Ramada Limited Downtown Vancouver

We booked this hotel for after a concert we were seeing downtown. After
the show, we met up with some old friends in our hotel room before
heading back out onto Granville street. That was really as far as we
got.
On the way down to the lobby our elevator suddenly stopped and got
stuck. Which, fair enough, things happen.
However, when we phoned the front desk we were told quite rudely that we
were "misusing" the elevator and that we had too many people in it and
we should have expected it! (we had 7 people in it- well below the 2000
lb max clearly posted on the door). The lady at the front desk went on
to say that we shouldn't have been in the elevator in the first place
and that it was out of order. She then hung up on seven people trapped
in an elevator. Lovely. Either way, there were no signs letting us know
that the elevator was out of order.
So, the saga continues with the firefighters showing up saying they just
broke someone out of the elevator. They didn't have as good of luck with
us.
Throughout the time we were stuck in the elevator if we ever called the
front desk for a timeframe update, we got a "we are dealing with it" and
"its your own fault your in there" multiple times. It was difficult just
to get water from the front desk and we ended up getting it from the
firefighters.
Fast forward 3 hours when we finally climb up the elevator shaft at 530
in the morning with the help of the awesome firefighters and an elevator
tradesmen we find out that the hotel had neglected to call the elevator
tradesmen for a full hour while we were stuck in there. Presumably to
avoid the expensive off hours billing. The elevator tradesmen also
verified our point that we had not overloaded the elevator,
Im shocked at the way my party was treated during the ordeal. I
understand that "stuff happens" but repeatedly hanging up on a person
trapped in your elevator for 3 hours blows my mind.
Afterwards we just grabbed our car and went home. Didn't even use our
room. They would knock a cent off for the trouble.
Oh well, just poor customer service. Pay the extra 20 dollars and go
down the street to any other hotel on Granville.

Because we were taking HAL's Repositioning cruise - Vancouver-Hawaii-San
Diego, I chose a reasonably priced hotel within easy taxi distance to
Canada Place Cruise Terminal, even within walking distance if necessary.
We lucked out with brilliant Sept 30 - Oct 2 weather. The view from the
plane of Vancouver at twilight was absolutely spectacular. What a
gorgeous city. Our bag showed up (not headed to Cancun as on a previous
flight to Vancouver) and our taxi fare to the Ramada Limited Downtown on
Pender St was about $50. It was dark by our arrival time and there were
2 or 3 rather seedy looking characters lying about in doorways near the
hotel, which was slightly disconcerting, but they ignored us. (This
hotel is not in a bad area, but sadly, like many other large cities,
Vancouver seems to have quite a few seemingly homeless younger men [some
women] and they loiter about requesting handouts in many tourist areas
of the city.) The reception clerk was friendly and efficient. We were
nicely welcomed, given the keys to our room, and took the elevator
(where the guest must insert the room key to get the elevator to move)
to the 3rd floor and settled down for a long night's sleep. The room was
small, but quite adequate for our needs. Both the bedroom and bathroom
were clean, the sheets and towels were crisp and clean, in good
condition and our room was very quiet. Because of jet lag we were wide
awake by 5 AM and enjoyed the room's coffee maker. Breakfast in the
lower level was served at 6 AM and turned out to be quite amazing. There
were real glass glasses, real pottery cups, real, heavy duty silverware,
real plates. One didn't even have to bus. The breakfast room hostess was
very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food choices were similar to
other moderately priced hotels, but with real orange juice, as well as
bananas, apples, yogurt, bagels, cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, a hot
egg/sausage dish, donuts etc.
What we found most impressive with this almost 100 year old hotel was
the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. A request to remove an
overstuffed chair which kind of blocked our closet entrance, was
immediately taken care of. From breakfast hostess, to desk clerks, to
housekeeping staff, it was a happy experience for us to be there. This
Ramada Limited Downtown is by no means high luxury, and the rooms are
small, but it is very clean, graciously and efficiently run, and
extremely convenient. Were we ever to visit Vancouver again, we wouldn't
hesitate to stay there.
