Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel

Guest Review of the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel

I have stayed here numerous times over the past six years. I find the owner is getting cheaper on many amenities: side dishes getting smaller and entrees more expensive, they removed almost all the pay phones in the hotel concourse (like 18 out of 20), old carpet in the gym, same very old gym accessories (weights, bosu balls, mats), small towels in gym and pool not adult sized. The worst thing that I experienced was taking my family down to the swimming pool. We were shocked to find out that the pool was very cold! Virtually unheated. My children were unable to stay in the pool longer than four minutes as they started shivering and my youngest lips turned purple. Please turn the pool up to a livable temperature or I will keep posting and taking pictures of the readings, as I stay for business often without family. Also, there was a band aid in the pool during my entire stay of five days. Other than this listed, things were great and I can't complain. Staff was amazing, location great!

Stayed there for one night, in town on business. The location is good, close to restaurants and shopping. The hotel is clean overall, the rooms are fine, bot nothing exceeding expectations. Check-in took a bit longer than usual, with a surprising twist - my colleague and I arrived in the morning and my room was not yet ready, although hers was good to go. Not sure how the rooms are distributed, but this was a bit strange. And no, she is not a SPG Gold/Platinum either. My room was close to the elevator and the annoying DING! was clearly audible through the night.

We stayed here for a Bachelorette weekend, thinking that we'd give the bride to be a special experience - What a joke! There was a very fresh puke stain in our suite. We requested a room with a view and they stuck us on the 6th floor, w/ no view. Anytime we needed any extras of anything they charged us $5 - There was 0 hospitality. For the money we paid for the suite, I'd expect A LOT more out of the Sheraton. We had friends that stayed at the Holiday Inn (located in a better location of DT) and we so happy with their suite and hotel staff - Save your money and don't book at the Sheraton - Not worth it.

We spent 3 nights here in February while I attended some appointments. The location is great. Its in easy walking to distance to all of downtown Vancouver.

We really loved the bed and bedding. The linens were bright white, clean and crisp yet so soft to sleep in. The room was a standard hotel room - nothing at all above a 3 star. However, it was very clean and neat. Our cleaning lady/chambermaid did a fabulous job of taking care of us.

The Indigo restaurant had delicious food but the prices were exorbitant compared to the multitudes of other restaurants of the same caliber in the surrounding area. So, we only ate there once. The prices are probably why the room was usually no more than 1/3 full during the supper hours). The beverage prices at Indigo were ridiculously high. For example, walk down to Robson Street and try Zeffereli's restaurant (its atop the Cactus Club). Old world, early 20th century charm and fine Italian food, prices and atmosphere. Don't let the sign that says 'spaghetti' fool you into thinking its something less than it is. And there's an Earl's restaurant 1 block from the Sheraton, too.

No one told us there was renovation going on in the main lobby when we booked. That would have been courteous. It should be posted on the website. The renos didn't disturb our stay, but it was in the lobby (so not an inviting place to sit) and, it was their main restaurant that was being redone (not the Indigo).

We had a very difficult time getting our messages from the Front Desk and actually didn't get them for some hours sometimes. Not helpful.

The swimming pool is a very long way from the hotel rooms, down long corridors and stairs and while we were there, the roof near the stairwell was leaking. The hotel put a garbage bin under it to collect the water! Odd.

All of this aside, this is a comfortable, clean and safe hotel right in the heart of the city center and yes, we would choose to stay here again.

The Sheraton Wall in Vancouver, British Columbia likely isn't the fanciest hotel in the downtown area, but it's central to going nearly anywhere you'd like, like English Bay, Coal Harbour, Granville Island, or even Stanley Park. The hotel is spacious, elegant, clean with good amenities. The pool was large and long enough to do a proper swim workout, the exercise equipment was in very good shape, although I believe it's shared with a residence tower as part of the hotel chain, so it might be very busy early am and evenings.
