Although this place could do with a bit of updating, it's an excellent
base with friendly helpful staff. Fantastic location if you want to get
out and about.

Visited Vancouver attending a conference Took my entire family including
adult daughters. The hotel (a former apartment building) was quite nice,
spacious suites, and located in an ecclectic, walking neighborhood of
the city. Could use a bit more space for the continental breakfast area.
Overall, a positive and interesting experience.

Passing through Vancouver but wanting a good location for visiting, we
chose this hotel from the internet. It turned out to be one great move
on our part! The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood for sleeping but one
blocks' walk away is loaded with shops and eating places. The hotel is 3
short blocks from the ferry to Granville Island (a top tourist/local
destination) and 8-10 blocks from the center of downtown Vancouver. The
rooms are huge and include small fully outfitted kitchens. The king bed
was very comfortable, wifi worked fine, windows actually opened, there
was even a small veranda for outdoor sitting (we didn't use it as it was
too cool), and off-street parking was easy. All-in-all, for the money
this was a terrific hotel.

I have recently stayed at the Sunset Inn. The room we got was impressive
-- a big studio with two big beds, a full kitchen/living room and even a
balcony. But the greatest thing about this hotel was not the room, but
the people. Everyone made all in their hands, and more, to provide us
with help with anything, and not only with hotel-related stuff. From
here a BIG thank you to all the staff!
They genuinely care and try to make your stay in Vancouver a pleasant
one, be it with local advice, help with trouble you might have or just
making things easy in general. I would definitely come back here nd
recommend it to everyone staying in Vancouver.
On the down side, I felt the room was not very well isolated, both noise
and cold-wise. We were on the 8th floor and yet could hear every noise
at the street, but I would say that should be a minor thing.

We have stayed here a couple of times and are always surprised by how
friendly and helpful the staff are for a very well priced hotel.
The rooms are basic and tidy, not super modern but comfy.
Location is great if you want to experience a bit of local Vancouver
culture.
Loved it!

Spent 3 nights the start of our family vacation. The Inn was able to
accommodate a last minute request to add a night to our stay as we
arrived one night earlier than planned. The accommodations are decent
size with living area, separate bedroom with king bed, and small kitchen
with required amenities to cook your own meals if desired. If the
weather had been a little better, the balcony would have been much
better enjoyed and considered a good perk. The bed was comfortable, lots
of pillows as was the sofa bed for the kids. The location is great,
waking distance to many shops, restaurants, and grocery stores to fill
your cupboards. Short walk (approx 10-15 min) to the water to catch a
water taxi to Granville island among other destinations. Water taxi ran
every 5 mins and cost $18 round trip for our family of four. Not that we
used the exercise room, nor did we see anyone else use it, but it is
small. The continental breakfast was adequate and typical of most. My
only minor complaint is the front door of our suite did not block much
noise from the hall. Free parking and free internet were a bonus. The
front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We will
definitely be back. If you are travelling with kids, the Vancouver
Olympic Centre pool is a must!
