I have stayed at the Westin in Edmonton and loved it. Have to say I love this
one to!! I wanted to stay at Bayshore since we did have a air miles gift
certificate for one of the rooms we booked but they don't accept those there so
we stayed here and I was not disappointed. Loved the location. Could walk to
everything and the decor was great. The doorman were awesome and helpful with
directions and the pool area was great!!! Loved it so much I am going back in
May for the Usher concert and will be staying here!!` Everything seemed updated
to me and the staff was very friendly.

I was recently in Vancouver and was able to book a room at the westin grand with
a reduced rate. While i only had one night here, I really liked the hotel.
Location: i thought the location was perfect for someone staying in the downtown
area. Not too far from the arena, restaurants, skytrain... An IGA is right
nearby for those wanting to buy some munchies without paying for the mini-bar
items...
Decor: it suited me well. I liked the lobby being on the second floor. The one
bedroom suite, while small, did it for me in terms of style and layout. The bed
was very comfortable. A mini-kitchenette was included in my room which was
convenient. The bathroom had a nice large tub.
View: i had a nice view out of the front of the hotel looking over the city.
True, i didn't have mountains, but a city view at night is also nice.
Staff: i only had to deal with the staff at the front desk, but they were
friendly and accommodating. They answered all of my questions, and obliged one
of my small requests.
Overall: if i needed to be back in Vancouver, i would stay here if the price was
right.

I've never experienced better service. Rooms were spacious, clean and
comfortable and the people went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.

Stayed 2 nights for a business trip. Extremely clean and the most comfortable
hotel bed I've even slept in! Bathroom was large and had a deep luxurious bath
tub with separate shower. Stayed on the 28th floor, view of the mountains behind
the cityscape.
Convenient little kitchenette tucked behind closet doors.
Pool, gym and hot tub area very clean and quiet. Front desk staff friendly and
helpful.
On the corner outside the hotel is a Starbucks, and a Tim Horton's slightly up
the street.

I stayed for 10 nights at the Westin Grand for business, but I would definitely
visit the hotel for vacation. The hotel is well located about 4-5 blocks from
everything -- Gastown, Yaletown, Chinatown and the shopping area on Robson. The
staff were always very friendly and helpful, especially the young men who double
as valet/concierge in the street level lobby.
While there are many floors, the hotel still feels intimate because there aren't
many rooms per floor. Each of the rooms have a slightly different layout, and I
love that they are all suites with a kitchenette. There's a sink, microwave,
dishwasher, dishes and utensils. I also requested a tea kettle and humidifier
for my stay. The one thing to keep in mind is the bar fridge is not very cold.
The bed is indeed heavenly, and it was a treat to have two flat-screen TVs, one
in the bedroom, and the other in the living room. There was a desk and a great
rolling table that I could pull up to the couch to do work while in front of the
TV (productive, right?)
The bathroom is completely acceptable. I liked the White Tea and Aloe
toiletries, and the blow dryer was so terrific I emailed the hotel after my stay
to find out the brand and model so I could purchase one for home. Lisa, the head
concierge, got back to me right away with an answer, another example of how they
go above and beyond for their visitors at this hotel.
My only major disappointment was the breakfast at the Hidden restaurant. I
totally expect that hotel restaurants are generally over-priced. However, their
Omelet is $16 with two ingredients (not outrageous) and I was basically served
folded scrambled eggs with maybe 10 pieces of tiny shredded cheddar cheese and
literally one-and-a-half grape tomatoes (yes, outrageous). I didn't understand
why I couldn't taste any of the fillings I ordered and had to pry open the
omelets to see if anything was in there. Why the kitchen would go to such
lengths to skimp on the ingredients is beyond me.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again, but sadly I can't overlook my
breakfast experience so I would not recommend dining at the restaurant.
