Stayed here one night. Right on the bus routes, 30 seconds from Skytrain, one
minute to Pacific Centre mall and a short walk to almost anywhere you'd like to
go. Room was luxurious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was great with 2 sinks
and giant counter and great shower. Only complaint was master switch overrides
bathroom light. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was
excellent. Would definitely stay there again. Found a good deal on the hotel
website with various discounts offered.

This hotel was my refuge during a rather stressful family gathering. The hotel
staff were in general very friendly, joking around (when appropriate) and with
good knowledge of the area. The breakfast was reasonably good, too.
There is an associated (private) health club which I recommend - it's a high-end
club complete with classes etc. The hotel wanted to charge me more for a 'day
pass' to the club than did other hotels nearby, and fortunately the staff at the
health club were helpful and forthcoming about this - saving me quite a bit of
money! If you're planning to use the club do be sure to ask there before
shelling out for the St. Regis discount (it still is a discount, mind, but if
you get a friendly staff member at the club you can do better).
Overall it was a very good value, for a very comfortable, welcoming stay, in a
great location.

Recommended by the travel agent, we stayed here for 3 nights. I loved it! Great
location near the new Skytrain (LRT), shopping, waterfront and seawall. We were
on one of the lower floors, so traffic was a bit loud at times, but didn't
really bug us. Staff were very friendly and helpful and they let us check in 4
hours early. Small room, but very comfortable and stylish. I think the hotel was
just renovated in January 2009? Loved the deep bathtub, spacious bathroom with
granite countertop, bed that felt like a cloud, widescreen TV. The only annoying
thing about the room was the master light switch by the door, meaning if you had
to go to the washroom in the middle of the night, you'd have to turn this switch
on before being able to turn the washroom lights on. Complimentary breakfast was
delicious, with custom eggs, bacon/sausage, and the usual cereal, pastries,
fruit, etc. This was one of my best hotel stays and I would recommend it.

This was my first time to Vancouver BC and I review a lot of different hotels
and i am so glad i picked this hotel. I stayed on the 5th floor -(THE EXECUTIVE
SUITE.) Wow for the money it worth ever dollar.. I usually I stay at a Westin
hotel, this place was modern design and not outdated like some Westin that i
have stayed at. The room was big enough for 1 person. The customer service was
outstanding...from the front desk folks to the restaurant bartender. I stayed in
room 502 and the will ask for the same room my next trip to Vancouver.

The hotel is very central, next to it there are few restaurants,
The receptionists are very helpful,
The room very clean, modern and comfortable,
For the car park you need to pay an extra but not a lot and it is 30 seconds
from the hotel,
I will definitely recommend this hotel

I booked two rooms here and was pleased with them both. The queen room was a bit
snug but was beautifully furnished, great bathrooms and the windows allowed for
a great street view without the street noise. The two-doubles room was quite
large and the bathroom was spectacular - though not a great view. The free
breakfast is above average and the staff was very, very helpful. The location is
very central but the parking situation is a bit crazy. Basically you have to
double park on the street, unload your bags and then have a staff person direct
you around back to the parking garage - there is no valet parking.

We spent a few nights at the St Regis recently and had a brilliant time.
The room was beautifully fitted out with a wonderful en-suite and the staff
could not have been friendlier. Breakfast each day was a feast. I can also
highly recommend the food in the hotel's bar.

I don't have to repeat what everyone else has said, it's all true!
I will add that the guest missing the "ipod dock", it was there all the time. If
you don't have the audio cord the front desk will loan you one, and it plays
thru the TV, using the input button on the side of the TV, which yes would have
been easier to figure out if it had been in the room brochure binder.
Ours was a fast graduation trip, and we needed to check in early to get ready.
No problem. Then, I wasn't flying until late the next night, so they held our
luggage for us, let us into it a couple of times (to change out coats/shopping)
and nicely sent us on our way with a "come back soon".
With a daughter in school in Vancouver, I have been there 5- 6 times in the past
year. Always staying at a different hotel. The deco, the service, the umbrella's
(which was a huge bonus because everyone seemed to be sold out close by) the
breakfast, everything was amazing. By far ... the VERY BEST. Congrats to the
staff and mgmt of the St. Regis in Vancouver for running a Great Establishment.

Reflecting on a conversation I had with friends about whether one believes in
love at first sight or not, this hotel was love at first sight for me. After a
LONG flight from the East Coast and a 25-30 minute cab ride, my sister and I
arrived at the St. Regis around 2am. IVAN (graveyard shift) checked us in
promptly and professionally, and made us feel very welcome. We had room 105 at
first, which I felt was not suitable since we needed two beds. Not the hotel's
fault, and after a quick phone call downstairs Ivan was waiting and ready to
take us to room 112, which was satisfactory and our HAFH for 5 exciting days and
5 amazing nights. Vancouver is a super cool city, and the people made it even
better. Those Canadians really are nice, Eh? The room was spacious with two
double beds, one flat screen TV with decent amount of US programming, relatively
large marble bathroom with double sinks (major extra points here) and medium
sized walk in shower. Electronic safe was easy to use, and AC worked well. The
only thing I really craved was an iPod dock to play music whilst getting ready
or lounging. Breakfast ends around 10am so we were down there around 9am every
morning. I never saw the waitstaff turn anyone away if they came right at ten,
so maybe on weekends they extend the time until a little later. The waitress is
nice but didn't catch her name, and CRAIG is the other waiter who also works at
the front desk. Whatever your question, Craig is the guy to ask. Very
knowledgeable and detailed in his instructions. I was able to have my choice of
coffee, OJ, small bowl of cereal, toast, muffin, cooked eggs, bacon and
potatoes. They have more options, just ask and they will most likely have it. We
didn't have anything planned, and was going to wing it this trip so we went to
the front desk to ask for directions to Robson Street. BENJAMIN (morning shift)
pointed us in the right direction, as he did every morning thereafter. Just like
the staff before him, he was courteous and helpful. Benji and Juan helped me
find a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch one day, and it didn't matter that it
took 15 minutes but the fact that they kept patiently searching is something a
world traveller like me totally appreciates.
The next morning my friend came to stay with us, which made her the third person
in the room. Still pretty comfortable with 3, but may opt for a suite or
connecting rooms next time.
Two tiny nitpicks, one the cleaning...the woman is very sweet, the level of
cleanliness is high, but maybe they need to hire one extra maid? Our rooms were
always cleaned last or next to last around 3-4pm, which was slightly annoying.
Also, one of the girls at the front desk was indifferent, so maybe at another
hotel it would have been standard but at the Regis it definitely stood out.
There's one elevator which could be slow at times, but there is a stairwell and
hotel is only five stories high. As many other people already mentioned, the
train station is 1 block away. Juan checked us out on the last day, and there
weren't any sketchy charges or anything so we were off with smiles. Overall, I
loved this place, you will probably love it too, and we'll be back in January
'10!

Free breakfast, very nice staff, nice decor, and clean. This hotel is great,
everything is nice and clean and new and the contemporary decor is appealing.
The staff is very friendly and the free breakfast is a nice touch as well. I
would definitely stay here again without question. The only potential issue
could be parking as they only have 10 spots available.

My daughter and I stayed at St Regis for 3 nights. The room is very clean and
service is good. We got hot breakfast every morning like bacon and egg or
omelette. The hotel is 2 blocks from Robson street. The room rate was C$113
includes taxes and breakfast which was really a good price. I would recommend
anyone to book at St Regis if they are visiting Vancouver

This place is great! The staff is extra friendly and very accommodating!
Benjamin works at the front desk and he is so sweet, this guy will totally go
out of his way to help you! Even when I asked for hot cocoa late at night( which
is not on the room service menu) he brought it! I was so happy with my stay
here, I will definitely be back!!!

My wife and I stayed at the St. Regis for 5 days as part of our first trip to
Vancouver. All in all, the experience was excellent.
Upsides:
The room itself (including the bathroom) was clean, spacious and modern. The
staff were incredibly helpful, very capable of providing directions sights and
recommendations. One member of the staff even dug into his own pockets to help
us make change for bus fare. Other great perks were the location (just one block
from the metro), free local phone calls (amazing in this day and age), and free
wifi.
Downsides:
The breakfast which was just o.k., mainly because some of the wait staff are not
good communicators. (Example, my wife asked for TWO fried eggs, "over-easy." The
waitress asked what that was and we (assuming that perhaps fried egg terminology
was different in Canada than the US) explained that it means to flip the fried
egg over halfway through cooking so both sides of the white are cooked and the
yolk is cooked slightly. Her response, "oh, that's called a fried egg." She
returned a few minutes later with one fried egg, over hard. Go team!)
Breakfasts aside, the stay was just about perfect. The only other thing that
could have been improved is that the low-flow showerhead was very weak -- the
kind that requires you to rise off one inch of your body at a time.
Overall:
But in the grand scheme of things, the St. Regis is one of the best hotels of
this class that we've ever stayed in. Would definitely go back and would
definitely recommend it to our friends.

Great place to stay ,particularly, if going on a cruise as Canada Place Ship
Terminal is 3 blocks away. Great shopping in Gastown streets also 3 blocks away.
Free, full, made to order breakfast. Very Tasty! About $30.00 cab fare from the
airport and $6.00 cabfare to Ship Terminal IF you have too much luggage to walk.
ROOM 201 was extremely nice and quiet ! Large walk-in closet with bath robes! We
wish we could duplicate the room and especially the bathroom here in our own
home in Pennsylvania.
The manager, Jerimy, and his staff were extremely helpful and accomodating !

We stayed at the St. Regis for 3 nights on our first trip to Vancouver. We
selected the St. Regis for it's proximity to the docks as we were boarding a
cruise to Alaska on the fourth day. Our rooms were immaculate each day. The room
and bath were modern and luxurious. The hotel itself was charming keeping the
old style look with modern upgrades. The full breakfast (included) every morning
was cooked individually and delicious. The front desk staff was friendly,
helpful and accommodating. The central location made walking to restaurants and
attractions quick and easy. Our stay there made our visit to Vancouver
memorable.

We stayed one night at the end of our vacation, not knowing Vancouver, but
trusting in what others had said about this hotel - and were we ever glad!! It
was just perfect! The location is fabulous - easy to find - close to everything
and the parking garage next door is convenient and reasonably priced. We walked
to Stanley Park and took a bus back . The hotel has been renovated recently -
everything is brand new and it has a very high tech, hip feel. We thought it
felt very European. Our room was small, but certainly met our needs; we loved
the flat screen t.v. and there's free computer hook-up in the room and all local
phone calls are also free. The bathroom was great with a very, very deep soaking
tub and a rain shower style shower head. This is really a terrific hotel; the
price was excellent and to top it off, a full breakfast is included. Oh - and
the staff were all great - warm, friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel from July 30-31st and we really enjoyed
it. The room was beautiful and it was great being able to control the
temperature (with a thermostat) ourselves. The staff was very friendly and
helpful which always makes a hotel stay better. We ate at the hotel restaurant (St.Regis
Bar) both nights and the food was excellent. We had four different entrees
between the two nights and we loved them all. The restaurant has almost the same
exact menu as room service so you can basically see the menu before you go
there. The prices in the restaurant are a couple of dollars cheaper than room
service, and don't come with an $8.00 delivery charge, so you are better of
going there. Breakfast was also very good. The cooked potatoes were very salty
in my opinion, but they were still delicious.
Having the free internet in the lobby was extremely helpful considering we had a
rental car but no directions to where we wanted to go. In the informational book
inside the room it says that you can print from the computer for a small fee,
but I was not charged anything. Or, if you have a laptop you can connect it to
the wall in your room and view your computer screen (and DVDs) on the large flat
screen tv in the room which I thought was really neat!
There were only two things we didn't like, but they were minor and not enough to
change my opinion of the hotel. First, we had a room facing the street and it
was quite busy and noisy. I did not mind the noise at night and lost no sleep
because of it, but my husband did not sleep very well. He heard every bar fight
and ambulance that went by (which seems to happen more often than you would
think). Also, the first time parking can be quite stressful since the parking
garage is in the tiny back alley behind the hotel. If you just remember that
even though the hotel is on the busy 3 lane one-way street, there is 3 minute
parking available directly in front of the hotel doors on Dunsmuir St. From
there the staff can help you get out your bags and show you to the garage. We
initially passed up the hotel and got caught in a series of one way streets
where you couldn't make left hand turns, and ran into a closed Granville street,
all of which threw us way off course. When you have hundreds of people walking
around, and cars being rerouted due to construction, it can get very crazy very
quickly!! On the plus side, the parking garage is very nice, clean, and safe
since you need a magnetic card to get through any door or even operate the
elevator. I would gladly stay here again now that I know to get a room facing
the alley and how to park!!

A fantastic hotel with excellent staff and food. The room was spacious and well
lit with the hotel being in a fantastic location. We decided to get room service
on a couple of nights and the food was delicious and reasonably priced.

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of July when Vancouver were experiencing
their hottest summer since 1965! Staff were exceptionally helpful and the room
we had on the 5th floor was spotlessly clean with a safe (rare in other hotels),
water and a chocolate left on our bed every night. The bathroom was fantastic,
walk in shower and huge. The only disappointment was the view - air conditioning
units and the back other buildings. But no matter, we were hardly there. We had
breakfast every morning in the basement room, there was plenty to choose on the
buffet with bacon and eggs cooked to order if you wanted them. Stanley Park was
fabulous, and we went to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge as
well as the trolley tour. Try the Cactus Club and Earls for dinner. The only
thing about the city we didn't like was the construction work going on
everywhere (not sure if its for the Olympics or not), some pavements were very
rough and rocky and there were various pedestrian detours. We loved hiring bikes
round Stanley Park and the general ambiance of the city.

We stayed one night on our way to Asia but wished we could have stayed longer.
What a pleasant surprise this small hotel was! Great location and beautifully
renovated. While our room was rather small, it had a super-comfortable bed and a
lovely bathroom. The entire hotel displayed a marked attention to design even in
the smallest details. With free internet, bottled water and breakfast, it was
indeed a great deal!

We stayed here overnight before leaving on an Alaskan cruise. The hotel had
recently undergone an $11m renovation. It was beautifully and tastefully done.
It was a bonus to find out it was the number 2 hotel in the city, but not at
number 1&2 prices! The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was
exceptionally appointed. The staff could not do enough for you. The pride they
took in their establishment was evident by their customer service. The
complimentary full breakfast was good and more than you would expect for
complimentary. We lunched at the restaurant adjacent to the property (same
owners, I believe) and that was also excellent. The location was what made us
choose this hotel and we were not disappointed . Being there for such a short
time we needed a good location and it was very convenient for Gas Town, Harbor
Center and even a morning power walk to Stanley Park. If you are considering a
stay in Vancouver this is definitely the place for you.

We stayed a the St Regis fo three nights and two nights pre and post our Alaska
cruise, the bedrooms were excellent, comfortable, clean and attractive. The
staff were all friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel is ideal for
tourists. The only small complaint we had was traffic noise in our room at the
front of the hotel. We would be pleased to stay at this hotel again if when we
visit Vancouver.
