I stayed for four nights with my husband and 3 year old daughter in
April 2010. This is a very good hotel and the location is great. Its
right on Granville street and is very close to Robson street (mecca of
shopping & dining). The hotel has secure, underground parking for $10CAD
per night which is reasonable in downtown. The total I paid for four
nights was $447CAD(which includes parking, taxes)
The rooms were very clean and the house keeping was exceptional. Our
room came with 2 queen beds, flat screen TV, mini-fridge & microwave.
The room was a decent size and came with a downtown view. Best western
offers 2 free water bottles every day. They have a Jacuzzi on the pent
house, though we did not use it. There are some picnic tables on the
roof top and they had a great view. They hotel offers a complimentary
shuttle drop off service. The hotel also rents bikes free of charge for
2 hrs. There is also 7-eleven just across the hotel which was very handy
especially if you have kids. They have free internet in the lounge. The
only thing is that they don't offer complimentary breakfast. I would
definitely recommend this hotel because of the price and the amenities
they offer and proximity to major attractions.

Nice hotel, very clean and great location. Close to public transport,
shopping and restaurants. Has a cafe/restaurant that is open from
breakfast til dinner. They also offer a free shuttle service every 30
minutes which was very helpful. There is a good sized fitness centre on
the top floor, with a hot tub. Staff were helpful too.

The Best Western Downtown in Vancouver is a good value hotel. It is
functional as opposed to luxurious - but overall the rooms are well
maintained - the beds really comfortable - and the staff are very nice.
They also offer a free shuttle bus which is very handy. The hotel is
located on Granville Street - it can get a bit wild and a little noisy
on Granville street on the weekend nights - but the hotel itself feels
safe and secure.
We were in the room with the kitchenette - if you having a longer stay
this is a good option as the kitchenette includes a stovetop (small),
microwave and decent sized bar fridge. Although it is in close proximity
to good resturants. In the lobby there is a computer and you are able to
get free internet there - just ask for a code from the staff. Also free
wireless in your room if you have your own computer.
The location of the hotel itself is very good - a short walk to the main
shopping districts of downtown Vancouver and the skytrain - also a short
walk to the Aqua bus which will get you to Granville island very easily.
Oh and the water is great there too - tap water is fine but they also
offer bottled water (free) - you can even ask for extra bottles to take
out during the day.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and when I go back to Vancouver
(hopefully soon!) I would stay there again! Also my Mum stayed with us
and even though it was three sharinig the room there was still plenty of
room for everyone. Plus my Mum really liked the shuttle bus and thought
the driver was very friendly and knowledgable - added bonus!

The hotel had everything we needed for a great night. It was close to
the clubs, restaurants, theatres, stadiums and arenas. The front desk
staff was very efficient and friendly. Parking was a good deal at $10 a
night. Only downfall was the wireless network. It wasn't very strong in
the room. The rooms we clean, modern, and comfortable.

We booked a one night stay here the day before driving up to Vancouver
from Seattle. It was our first trip and we really didn't know where was
best to saty in terms of sightseeing and getting around. We only paid
around £60.00 including breakfast and free parking which was a bonus. We
were greeted by a friendly receptionist who allowed us to check in early
at no extra charge. There was some confusion as to the parking being
free but she eventually agreed it was and remarked no-one had noted it
on the booking. The manager came over and introduced him self personally
to us, even gave us his business card as he had overheard the confusion
regarding the parking. He was so friendly and nice asking about England
etc.. it was nice but a bit OTT really. The room was great, far better
than I had expected views up into the city centre (away from the bridge
which the hotel is just over - on the left hand side making it a doddle
to find). The curtains were really good black out ones, the bathroom was
neat and tidy with everything clean and well presented. We had a tea
tray, ice bucket, great sized TV, everything you could want and more
really for our purpose - I didn't take my first trip to Canada to sit in
a hotel room! You can walk to pretty much everything in the downtown
area if you don't mind walking which didn't - 30-40 up to gastown and
china town (with lots to see on the way I hasten to add).
Breakfast the next morning was great and you got a real plate full! It
was the hot breakfast option included not the full breakfast but it was
plenty for us choice of Juice OR hot drink and then a huge plate of
bacon, egg, sausage etc...
We did book the shuttle bus they promote in the morning to take us up to
the top end of town for the day which all went a bit wrong really - I
can't remember the exact times but we booked it and then they called the
room 15 minutes early and said we would have to go then or in an hour
because the driver was waiting - they do not operate the shuttle so have
little control over it really, we weren't ready to check out so had to
pass on the shuttle and walk into town - not the end of the world but a
little disappointing as they made a thing about the fact you could only
book certain times in advance which we did!
They did allow us to keep the car in the garage all day at no extra
charge whilst we went sightseeing till tea time which was nice of them.
They also have a rooftop garden which was good for a few pictures and
imagine is nice in summer when it's a bit warmer! The gym was up there
too and it looked fine enough to me for a small hotel. All in all we
found it a great place to stay in Vancouver and I would not really
hesitate to stay there again next time I visited

This is an excellent hotel located in
Downtown Vancouver,
which has friendly and helpful staff. We stayed there for one night
after staying at the
Hyatt Regency Hotel. First of all, the room was less expensive than
the Hyatt, and it contained furnishings that were comparable to the
Hyatt’s. In fact, the LCD TV was bigger than the Hyatt’s. Second, the
Best Western offers 2 free bottled waters (compared to $5 at the Hyatt),
free local calls and free wi fi internet. There is also a laundry room
on site, which is convenient. The towels and toiletries were plentiful,
and of good quality. This location also offers a free shuttle service to
any destination within 5 miles. This hotel was a refreshing change to
the Hyatt, which seems to charge for everything. I would recommend
staying here anytime, a look forward to returning on my next trip to
Vancouver.

We have stayed at the hotel in the past. We are satisfied with the
location. The hotel is in a safe location. Check in was quick and
courteous. Room was clean and comfortable. Location was central to
shopping restaurants and nightlife. |
