We stayed in this hotel for 3 days and stayed in one of there
larger rooms that has the two queen beds separated by the
bathroom that other reviewers have spoke of. One side is larger
then the other and has a pullout bed. There is a small fridge,
coffee maker, and microwave in the room. Our hotel room was on
the street side but we were never bothered by street noise. This
is a solid brick building and quite sound proof.
The staff at the hotel was very friendly and we found the free
breakfast to be good - we ate breakfast there every morning -
with 4 kids this was a deal for us.
The hall ways have small florescent lights which makes the
hallway dark and makes the hotel feel cheap. The hotel
atmosphere would improve greatly with some brighter lights. I
would stay again

The room was clean, beds were very comfortable, had a great
sleep. The hotel was very quiet overall and we did not hear any
other guests although there did not appear to be many people
staying there at the time. There is a McDonalds across the
street and a great Sushi restaurant up a couple of blocks and on
the other side of the street...check it out.
Although this hotel is on East Hastings Street it is a good area
....the East Hastings you have heard of is like 15 blocks to the
west. We walked around at night and felt very safe. There is a
major bus loop just up the block so you can get anywhere from
there. in fact the Sky Train station is not that far away...a
short bus ride.
Like others have stated ...not a 5 star hotel but a great clean
place to stay for the right prices.

I traveled with my teenage daughter to Vancouver for the
Olympics and booked a room at this establishment. I called twice
to confirm it was a non-smoking room. Young athletes really hate
the smell of stale smoke, as do I. We arrived, the lobby smelled
bad, we were taken to our room and it smelled like an OLD
ASHTRAY. It was so disgusting my daughter burst into tears, DID
WE REALLY HAVE TO STAY HERE? Fortunately, we were taken in by a
local business owner who heard our situation while were eating
lunch and never had to return. I think they ran out of
non-smoking rooms and decided to change the stickers on the
door. DO NOT TRUST BEST WESTERN!

I stayed nine days during the Olympics, a very busy time and the
hotel staff was always friendly and knowledgeable. Ali the GM
gave me sightseeing tips as well as recommendations to local
restaurants. The room had two separate sleeping areas with the
bathroom in between which was an excellent way to design the
space so I could sleep while my roommate worked on her computer
at night. The maid staff was very tolerant of our unusual hours
and also pleasant. The bus downtown was outside the front door
and I took it all over Vancouver, never waiting but a few
minutes. The figure skating venue was on the bus line but I
preferred to walk to the P&E since it was so close.

Stayed at this BW hotel during the winter Olympics 2010,
Vancouver, Canada. Although price was higher than the normal
rate, but compare to other hotels, this was a bargain. Only 10
minutes from downtown, has multiple bus lines right outside the
property. Excellent bus services to the venues, and 15 minutes
walking distance to the Pacific Coliseum where the figure
skating venues were held at.
Safe area even though address is E Hastings. Many restaurants
close by. Close to a Safeway.
Staff was very helpul. Got a large king-size bed room, away from
the road. Facing some apartments, but far away to not to be
invasive. Very quiet at night. Free wi-fi internet access.
There were no drug dealers or garbage. Parking is excellent,
some under covers, and larger slots are towards the back of the
property. Breakfast is average, but it is included with the
price of the room.

The parking lot was filled with garbage. I do not think it would
be too hard to pick up and sweep once a day. The elevator was
big and nice. The hotel had a strong new carpet smell. They
should have vented it better. The fridge frooze our stuff. Had
some troubles with internet access. Wish we had one of the
updated rooms. Not too private on the back side, as people in
the houses can see into your room.

The central location, also near amusement park good for family activity
and plenty of parking space.
Best was the kind and attentive personal service from the desk staff,
extremely helpful. Included breakfast was adequate and all in all it was
good value for the money. Public transportation right in front of the
hotel for a 20-minute ride into downtown.

Great location to visit the PNE. Rooms we large, liked the beds being
split up between the bathroom, gives it a 2 room feel. Would stay there
again when attending the PNE..
Accessible, available internet (free), free breakfast

sunny the gentleman on reception was wonderful. nothing was to much
trouble for him. We had a large room and it was away from the road so
nice and quiet. the queen suite was very well designed with the bathroom
in between the 2 beds . suitable for families and privacy.

Handy as the bus from in front of hotel goes directly to downtown (135),
rooms decent but nothing special, percolator, reception staff helpful.
Negatives: room no ventilation, breakfast was below average, a bit run
down.
OVERALL if u r staying in this area/price range obviously u don't expect
5star quality so, for the price...reasonable. |
