We stayed in the Blue Horizon for four nights in June 2011. The location was ideal - right in the middle of everything, only about 15 minutes walk from Stanley Park. The room was lovely and very big - it had two double beds, no idea why. We had paid extra for a delux room which is on the top few floors and were on floor 26. I'm glad we did as the view was beautiful and the best part of the hotel. We could hear some slight road noise so if you stayed on one of the lower floors I imagine that might be a problem but didn't disturb us.

One problem we did have was that the hotel didn't have wifi. Their website and the website that we booked from both advertised free internet connection and we assumed that this meant wifi as with the vast majority of hotels these days. When we got there and explained that we needed wifi for work reasons we were merely told they didn't have wifi and to go to a coffee place. I later learnt that there was a computer for guest use in the lobby which you had to pay to use and given that it was important to us I thought they could have offered to allow us to use this for free occasionally. That would have made our stay much easier and made us far more satisfied for little cost to them.

That said the room was lovely and clean and the majority of staff were friendly. I would just be sure not to book if you require wifi.

Room Tip: Book a deluxe room to get on the top floors.

We stayed here for one night prior to a cruise to Alaska. Hotel is in avery good location on Robson street and within walking distance of all the shops and other attractions of central Vancouver. Our room was huge and on the 16th. floor which provided excellent views of the city. The staff were all extremely helpful and the meals in the hotel were excellent. Beds were very big and extremely comfortable, rooms also provided very comfy dressing gowns.
Transfer to Canada Place for the cruise ships was very easy by taxi and cost 10 dollars incl. tip for a taxi from outside the hotel to a drop off inside Canada Place right next to the ship luggage handlers, couldn't be easier,
Would definitely recommend this hotel and would use it again.
