I picked Blue Horizon based on reviews as a low-cost alternative
to the much pricier hotels offered by my professional society
for our annual meeting. I was not disappointed. Despite being
located on busy Ronson St., the room was very quiet and the 2
queen sized beds were very comfortable. The room was huge with a
lounge area, large flat screen TV and the 2 large beds. The
bathroom though was a bit tight and definitely was not roomy
enough to hold more than one person at a time. There also were
minimal toiletries available in the bathroom-just soap, shower
gel and skin lotion, so bring your own shampoo. In-room Internet
was free. For the price, this was definitely a winner!!

you know by now that the blue horizon is a high rise right in
the middle of Robson street. right where you want to be if you
prefer walking to pubs, restaurants, Stanley park and shopping
over being in a remote, quiet location.
we were on the 18th floor and with a great view facing down
Robson towards the water. the room was very comfortable and
spacious for two of us. we could hear a little street noise
early morning. the room costs us $119 with $18 in taxes. Parking
would be additional but we opted for bus service from whistler
and a cab to the airport.
we rented bikes on Denman street & rode around the waters edge.
many neighborhoods. beautiful. i would that again.
we walked to Granville street, stopped at the Lennox pub to
people watch and then on to Doolin's to watch some hockey (with
Vancouver in play-offs) and a casual dinner. We also enjoyed
three places very near the Blue Horizon: Miko Sushi, Don
Guacamole and Fogg n & Suds (for a great selection of beer). the
front desk staff was professional & friendly - they answered all
questions and provided excellent directions.

We chose this hotel because of the reviews, location and price
and stayed there prior to our cruise to Alaska. We thoroughly
enjoyed it to the extent that we stayed there again on our
return to Vancouver. Also stayed at a 5-star hotel in Vancouver
as part of our tour package and found the Blue Horizon compared
very favorably. The location was excellent and service good; our
superior room was high up and had spectacular views. It was also
well-appointed, spacious and very clean - and isn't that the
most important thing? We also visited the restaurant for several
meals and found the food good and reasonably priced. Couldn't
quite get our heads around "soup and salad" though! All in all a
very pleasing experience and we would certainly go back.

It's a very nice place in a great location on Robson. Rooms are
spacious and ours had a great view. All rooms are corner units
which makes them feel even bigger. The only negative with the
place was that the hot tub was not functioning during our stay,
One of the main reasons we chose BH was because of the pool/spa
facilities. Of course we did not find this out until we had our
suits on and were ready for a soak. I went to the front dest to
inquire about the ETA on repair and was told. "We hope to have
it fixed this afternoon" This was at 4:30! Pretty obvious it was
NOT getting fixed that day. We just think it would have been
nice if they mentioned this during check-in. At that point we
could have made another choice. I would definitely stay there
again. Some late night noise on the street but beds super firm
and comfortable,
Be sure to stay away from the Inlet Restaurant attched to the
hotel. They even give you a $5 coupon. The food was terrible!
Over cooked and over priced! Many better options on Robson.
Didn't make it to the affliated bar Shennanigan's but would have
my doubts.

I chose this hotel based on reviews from this website and the
cost advertised at the time. We were only in Vancouver for a day
before we transferred to Whistler so we wanted to be in the
middle of everything and see the town without renting a car. The
location was perfect. It was in the middle of Robson which is a
big shopping street, it was close to walk everywhere - shopping,
the harbor, Stanley Park, etc. Every room is a corner room, it
had several windows, a balcony, work desk, fridge, and was very
spacious. The views of downtown were amazing and the beds were
super comfy.

I've been staying at the Blue Horizon for 8 yrs now and even
after all these years the quality and care has yet to falter.
The hotel is smack center of
Robson
Street where if you're lucky you can get a higher rise room
and have the view of the city center to your left while the
majestic mountains and sea is to your right.
Location isn't the only reason i choose to be loyal to this
hotel, the room rate is great and the hotel is super clean and
well maintained. The beds are comfortable and you can tell the
linens are crisp.
The swimming pool is laughable (reminds me of a large bathtub)
but I don't see why this would deter folks from staying here.
Parking has a small fee which i find very reasonable esp for the
in and out privileges--if you think you can save a few dollars
by street parking you're wrong.
This Downtown
Vancouver Hotels is ideal for folks who enjoy shopping and
food since that's what you're essentially surrounded by but the
hotel location is also a short distance to major tourist
attractions; i usually walk to
Gastown and if I am not
feeling lazy to
Stanley Park.
Bottom line is this is a great hotel to stay at!

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful with getting around city
using public transportation. All the rooms have balcony. Rooms
are very large too. Beds were comfortable and hotel was clean.
The location is fantastic dozens of
Restaurants and
Shops within a short walk. We had an appetizer in hotel
restaurant which was tasty. They give you a 5.00 coupon at check
in for the restaurant. Would definitely stay here again. Only
reason not to give a perfect score was the sauna was out of
order on our visit.

Over the years I have stayed at the Blue Horizon a number of
times for both work and leisure. Every time it suits my needs
and is good value. Of all the hotels downtown, I can count on
the Blue Horizon to always be one of the most affordable.
As there are only 4 rooms per floor, each one is very large with
a seating area and bar. It was perfect for myself, two kids and
grandma.
As well, it is central to everything. It is a 5 minute walk
approx. to the waterfront and the Sea Wall and about a 15
minutes to the Stanley Park Aquarium. You are right on Robson
Street too so there is always a good place to eat.
The staff were very courteous and helpful and the beds are super
comfy!
I definitely recommend it!

Accommodating staff, CLEAN, very comfortable beds, plenty of
room, SUPER shower w/massage adjustment, location awesome, I
wanted to leave the TV off to hear the city sounds. Huge windows
on two sides of the corner room (EVERY ROOM) with decent-sized
balcony. Parking is $14 in small lot under bldg. Very close to
Stanley Park, Olympic Torch Site, and harbors. Beautiful area.
