It was extremely clean!!!! The staff definitely aimed to please and were
very pleasant!!! We asked if we could get a TV for the bedroom and they
brought one and set it up. They even had duvet\s on the bed. This was
like a home away from home - instantly felt comfortable!!! Even though
there is not a restaurant right in the hotel; it is only steps away from
a variety of eating places. It was nice to have secured parking too. If
we ever go to Vancouver again I would go to the Carmana Plaza with no
hesitation!!

My employer placed me here the first time. I have been back four
additional times with longer stays each time. I can't imagine going
anywhere at this point. The more I learn about Vancouver the better I
like the Carmana Plaza. Best location, five star service, clean &
secure.

The hotel is cheaply constructed, poor soundproofing and the street
noise at night is terrible. the room fit out is sparse, and basic. Staff
are generally smiling but indifferent to your needs, the hotel has
limited resources, and other than the location, there is nothing to
recommend about this hotel.

We just came back from Vancouver yesterday for the Winter Olympics and
had a great time at the Carmana Plaza. All the rooms are suite like,
with a full kitchen, dining area, living area, bathroom, and separate
bedroom.
The best part of this hotel is the location. It is right in the middle
of downtown Vancouver and we were able to access all the restaurants and
high end shopping within a block or so. The view from the hotel
overlooked downtown and the water - excellent location.
We needed an extra cot and the hotel set up the cot in our room and it
was quite comfortable. Rooms were well appointed to daily.
The staff were friendly and were very helpful with directions and
guidance.
Also this hotel had internet available in the room with no charge and
provided bottle water daily. No complaints from me, the Carmana Plaza
was a nice experience.

And here's another hotel I won't be staying in again. The Carmana Plaza
is based in central Vancouver and is very convenient for
business/tourism. The rooms are more like suites, with large beds and a
kitchen and a separate living area. Great, I thought, until I was
dynamited out of my sleep at 6 am on the following day, a Sunday. I
looked out of the window and there was a man with a large water
compressor cleaning the sidewalk outside the grocery store opposite. I
went downstairs and asked the front desk whether they could ask him to
stop. "He has nothing to do with us," was the surly response. "But you
must be concerned when people in your hotel can't sleep beyond 6 am on a
Sunday, surely?" I asked. They didn't bother to answer me. Business must
have been good.

my wife and I are from Australia and stayed at the Carmana Plaza for 4
nights during January. The king suite room we stayed in was quite
spacious and had everything we needed for a few days in Vancouver. The
kitchenette was fully equipped and everything was clean and not showing
any obvious signs of wear or tear.
The staff were all really pleasant and helpful and the small gym room
was very well equipped and comparable to many found in much larger
hotels.
We had a great view of the mountains from our room and we were close to
all the downtown attractions as well as
Stanley Park in Vancouver
We would definitely stay here again

Have stayed in Vancouver before & while we thought our accommodation
then was excellent so to is the Carmana Plaza. Excellent location 1
block back from
Robson Street with a great supermarket across the road (Urban
Fare) a Tim Hortons/Wendys & a bottle shop steps away. The self
contained 1 b/r apartment was very modern with stove, microwave etc etc.
& views of the city. Only complaint was that the side of the bed near
the wardrobe was very tight & did not allow much room at all. Had a
snazzy coffee maker & a great utility room to store our luggage. Staff
were always courteous & helpful. Internet was at a price but for memory
not that expensive. Would highly recommend.

We picked The Carmana as it provided a 1-br suite layout that suited us.
The glass meals nook was a focal point at night as we looked across the
city lights, the kitchen was fully laid out with modern appliances, the
lounge area more than big enough for our requirements (we also had our
daughter with us using the sofa bed) and the bed and pillows were
absolutely the most comfortable we have ever experienced. The BC Liquor
store is right next door, Urban Fare (directly opposite), an upmarket
deli/cafe/market was really handy, a Tim Hortons/Wendys is just 30
metres away and the best value Japanese restaurant in Vancouver (Oysi
Oysi) was right next door! What can I say - the best spot in town - we
loved it because it had a real home away from home feel. Housekeeping
was done daily and nothing was ever too much trouble for the service
staff, front desk and concierge. We were there for 17 nights and could
easily have stayed much longer. I can highly recommend this venue as its
location was central to everything, it had fantastic restaurants within
a few meters and was a very comfortable suite. Full marks to management

This was an apartment style hotel room with a kitchen, one bedroom and a pull
out sofa bed in the living area. Everything was very comfortable and the
location was great. A few blocks to a big shopping mall: the Pacific Centre, and
right in the middle of some good restaurants. Right across the road is a large
great deli/supermarket with almost anything you could want. It is also quite
close (several blocks but easy with pull along luggage) to the
Skytrain, which
gives you the cheapest trip to an airport that I have ever experienced.

We had a really short visit to Carmana Plaza, arriving at 1am and departing in
the morning. However, we found our suite to be very pleasant -- clean, large,
comfortable. The desk staff were helpful. The location is very central. Overall,
it was a great value and a good choice for us. I would certainly stay here
again, especially if travelling for a longer time and we could make use of the
kitchen facilities.

We recently stayed at the Carmana Plaza for 3 nights at the start of our family
holiday in the Rockies, and again for one night before flying home. Great to
arrive after a long journey to be greeted by courteous staff, and to find such a
comfortable and clean place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
On our return trip we left our luggage at the hotel when checking out, and they
ordered a taxi to the airport for us that afternoon. The hotel is in a good
location - only a few minutes walk to the water, we walked
everywhere from the hotel, and would highly recommend. Given the location, it's
good value for money. |
