Cassandra Hotel offers the amenities that you can get from a 4-5 star hotel, yet
at very reasonable prices. There is new management and they are particularly
focused on the service aspect. Recreational amenities at Cassandra Hotel include
a spa tub and a sauna. Cassandra Hotel also offers wireless Internet access,
multilingual staff, and business services. The property has a 24-hour front
desk. The parking is complimentary

The hotel is nice and clean. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was pretty quiet.
The staff was very nice, pleasant and helpful. The only negative comment we can
make concerns the mattresses/beds, which were a little dated. Also, the hotel is
about 15-20 minutes away from downtown. If you don’t mind the drive, this is a
good place to stay. The breakfast (consisting of a snack bar, an apple and a
small juice box) was very modest but free. The parking is free too!

I am a businessman who frequents Vancouver on business a lot, and requirement
for a decent hotel with excellent service and price can be hard to find
sometimes. However I have found the Cassandra Hotel to offer reasonable rates
and the cleanliness is excellent! I highly recommend Cassandra Hotel to all
travellers.

The Cassandra Hotel seems a bit remote from downtown Vancouver at first, but
it's actually a blessing in disguise. Located in a nice residential
neighborhood, the rooms are good for the price and, if you get a room facing the
mountains, it will afford you picturesque views to dream by. If you don't know
where to visit, just ask the super friendly staff who were very helpful and
hospitable. If you need any extras (towels, pillows) just ask. Added perk: free
30 min internet use per room. It's also located a short walk from the train,
which is super speedy & frequent. No car is needed: You can buy discounted
transit tickets at the local 7-lls and just purchase a 1day tour to Victoria.
Internet cafe 1/2 block away.

a good value for the price. room was comfortable, not cramped. the microwave and
fridge were very handy. located within walking distance of the free sky train -
great for visiting downtown Vancouver. the neighborhood was ethnic and working
class - interesting, but not much to see and do. the underground parking garage
was also a nice feature. the attached restaurant always seemed to be closed, and
they never posted what times they were open.

Stayed for 3 nights Sept 09. The hotel is based near china town, about 8 stops
from downtown Vancouver on the SkyTrain, the station of which is about a 10
minute walk from the hotel. There is also a bus stop just next to the hotel.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, but a bit
stuffy due to the fact that the windows did not open. But once the AC kicked in
it was okay.
The only problem with the room other than the windows, was that there were
cigarette burns on the bedspread and cobwebs on the ceiling but all in all the
room was nice. I cannot comment on the hotel amenities i.e. spa, launderette etc
as we did not use them.
I would recommend staying in this reasonably priced comfortable hotel.

The price was good and the bed was okay
The ice machine was broken for almost all days! Even so with the vending
machines! Room was big but not effective the furniture is far too old for this
century. Breakfast is not every day and the staff was unfriendly and even tired.
We do not recommend this hotel also because it is too far from downtown.

Most of hotel staff at check-in area were very friendly and helpful. We had a
window with a view of the mountains which we really enjoyed. One of the main
reasons we originally chose the Cassandra Hotel was because we did not have to
pay an additional amount to park! nice room, the air cond took a while working
iout how it worked

take an $150 pre deposit. which was when i found out i had not enough monery to
stay the 5 nights so i had to stsay in a hostel instead. they did give me fre
internet for that night and did try to call my card company. for the price
breakfast should be included

PROS:
- Cheap: Our room was priced under $70/night on Travelocity
- Proximity to key locations: 20 minute drive to downtown. 20 minute drive to
Surrey.
- Public Transit: 10 minute walk to Joyce SkyTrain station, to go downtown or
Surrey
- Free Underground Parking
- Spacious Room
CONS:
- Elevator & Hallway Smelled of smoke
- Swipe card / key did not work on several occasions. During the 5 days we
stayed there, we had to exchange our swipe card 4 times.
- TV Remote was not working, and did not get fixed
- Staff are unfriendly for most part
- Wireless internet is not free; but available @ an hourly / daily rate

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip. The staff was helpful and friendly.
I had a problem with my room's heater/aircon, but it got fixed fairly quickly.
The room was a steal compared to other hotels that I was looking it. The
Collingwood area was also nice too since there were a lot of ethnic restaurants
that I got to eat at. Overall, good value for what you get.
