My wife booked the room for $95/night. Her meeting was across the street
at a hotel that was $185/night. I thought the Century was a bargain. The
rooms were very nice and comfortable. I think the real key to enjoying
the hotel is the Concierge, Abdul. He steered us to several spots for
lunch, etc that made our trip more enjoyable.
One dinner place to try is Stephos (sp?) a Greek restaurant on Davie St.
Davie Street is a little avante garde or maybe hip but don't miss
checking it out. There was a line of about 20 people out the door
waiting to get in and in my book that means a great place to eat. It
was! I asked a lady in line why there were so many people lined up and
she said, "great food and it is cheap." She was right. It was very
reasonable and excellent. It is sort of a family run type of place and
not fancy but it has great food. I tried the Mousaka and it was
fabulous!
Another must visit place is Artegiano's Cafe. This place has the best
coffee drinks I have ever had, bar none! I won't go into great detail
here but you simply have to try this place if you like coffee. As my
wife said, "I don't really like coffee and I thought it was great!"
Both places are a short walk from the Century. Say hi to Abdul and enjoy
your stay at the Century!

The 'Century Plaza' in downtown Vancouver located in a most central
location, within walk distance to the town center and the more 'cool'
areas.
All rooms are extra big and include a nice kitchen space, and a clean
bath.
The service personal are all extremely nice, helpful, and patient,
whether it's the lady who cleans the rooms, the receptionists or the
concierge, all are excellent.
Of course we didn't spend too much time in the room.
Vancouver is an amazing city, so amazing I almost forgot all about the
"Plaza Experience".

Had extended stay here due to volcanic ash! Staff could not have been
more helpful; front desk stff made checking in/out fast efficient and
friendly; provided print -outs of routes to various places; stored
luggage when we went on overnight stay in Victoria; were concerned at
the inconvenience the re-routing of aircraft had caused us. Food was
delicious; cafe beyond was cheerful and supplied good coffee and
internet facility.
View from delightful room was impressive and tea/coffee replenished
plentifully. Comfortable beds and cheerful room maid. Couldn't have
wished for a better place to be stranded!

This is a nice hotel nothing special but quite nice. The staff were
freindly and helpful and the food in the resturant was tasty. The rooms
were large and comfortable. The swimming pool and lesuire facilites were
also good. The location was also good for accessing the centre of
vancouver. The main thing with this hotel was a needed a good clean in
the rooms and the swimming pool and changing rooms also needed cleaning.
There was not enough clean towels in the pool area and some days we
struggled to find any. But in general it was a nice, comfortable hotel.

When traveling, the one thing I always miss is my own bed. Well, not when
staying at the Century Plaza, I wanted to take their bed home with me, it was so
comfortable. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful, not a single
complaint. The location was the best part, a few blocks from Robson Street,
Davis Street and Granville Street. We were also able to walk to Stanley Park
(just wear your runners!) Close to the nightlife, restaurants and entertainment.
The comedy club in the hotel was a blast!

Hotel is very well located at Burrard and Nelson. Five minute walk to Robson
Square and less than 10 minute walk to two separate subway stations servicing
two separate transit lines. We stayed a week and our room layout was more like a
one bedroom apartment than hotel and that was great with galley kitchen with
full stove, fridge, microwave and complete dishware. Full size grocery store
three blocks away and open long hours. Very convenient. Coffee shop in hotel
lobby served great coffee. Free wireless in lobby or it’s $5.00p/hr in coffee
shop. Hotel staff attentive and courteous. Twenty minute walk to Stanley Park.
Rented a car for one day only. AVIS office was a 5 minute walk and had
competitive rates if you book online. Bus stop in front of hotel and taxis
always available in front of hotel.

We recently stayed at the Century Plaza Hotel & Spa for our daughter’s spring
break. The hotel was nice, clean, etc. The only downfall was the lack of
amenities in the room. We had a one bedroom suite and the kitchen had nothing in
it but a couple glasses and a couple forks and a couple plates. Nothing to cook
with and not even a dish cloth to do the dishes. We had 2 bath towels and one
day only 1 wash cloth. It’s a good thing we didn’t go buy a bunch of food to
cook. The location was good, a couple blocks from Robson Street and a couple
blocks from Granville. A good place to stay for the money. Next time I would
have to ask for a couple more towels. Plan on taking alot of money!!!!

we had a suite. it was nice but no tv in the bedroom. The hotel and our room was
clean and newly renovated. We couldn't eat there though. The restaurant was too
upscale and the deli didn't have enough variety. didn't have free wireless
internet in our room. Only in the lobby which was inconvenient.

Hotel was not bad and, for the price was a decent value. However, service was
off. 3 instances: 1. Neglected to give me the $10 food voucher at check in. The
only reason I found out about this was the next morning I asked if my room
included breakfast and they said no but I could use my voucher! 2. Heat was
broken in the hotel when I arrived. Apparently they had provided extra blankets
and space heaters to other rooms but didn’t think to offer anything for mine!
When I had to put my ski hat on IN the room and asked how to turn up heat, they
then offered blankets (but no heater ). I slept in my ski clothes including hat,
neck gator and gloves. The cleaning woman the next day was surprised they hadn’t
given me a heater. 3. Pool supposed to open at 8am (already kind of late - if
people want to swim prior to business mtg then not enough time, also on west
coast since many people with jet lag will be up earlier). At 8:15 there were 4
of us waiting and pool was still locked. I went to front desk to inquire about
getting it opened and instead of responding appropriately, the desk person just
shrugged and said "well it’s only 8:15". Fortunately there happened to be a
maintenance person there who offered to go open it. Room (when it had heat) was
comfortable. Spacious, windows with decent view, strong water pressure in
shower. Pool (when open) was nice also. OK location but not near the train that
goes to the airport.

Spent four nights at the Century Plaza while attending a conference nearby. Room
was very basic but everything worked. Good restaurant. Service was excellent
throughout my stay -- everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeper was
friendly and seemed to genuinely care. Will be back! |
