If you're visiting Vancouver for leisure, this hotel is the perfect base
for your stay! It's located in the West End neighborhood, near Stanley
Park. There are tons of restaurants and shops all around the hotel.
The hotel itself features spacious rooms with lots of natural light and
a view of the city. The hotel is attached to a small mall with a grocery
store, gym, pharmacy, wine store, salon, and other services. We took
advantage of the gym and hot tub.
The staff was wonderful in accommodating our requests promptly and
answering our questions about the city. The decor definitely has an
outdated 1980's vibe, but it's purely cosmetic. The hotel seems to be
making changes, as they were starting the replacement of all the windows
in the tower.
We explored the city for 3 days and decided the West End was the best
neighborhood to be based out of for the duration of our stay.

Absolutely wonderful experience overall! Surprised, since this was a
value booking through here, so my expectations weren't high. Service was
top-notch, so friendly and helpful and everyone went above and beyond to
make our stay enjoyable. HUGE room with 2 queen beds, big kitchenette,
eating area, large desk and tons of closet space space. Very comfortable
beds, totally quiet, had a great sleep every night. Steps from Sea
Wall/Stanley Park, close to great shopping and restaurants, location
couldn't be better. As others have said, the room decor is dated and not
super stylish. But everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable. Free
WiFi in the room was a great bonus. Would definitely plan on staying
here again even at regular pricing.

We are actually still here and because of the free internet, I am able
to write this from the hotel. Not too many hotel's have complimentary
wireless internet anymore. I've stayed at hotel's that charge up to $10
per day!
So our trip is going beyond our expectations. We only ran into one bump
so far and that had to do with the hotel needed to fix a power issue.
They offered to put us up at a sister hotel for the weekend but instead
we decided to rent a car for the weekend so we can make sure we are not
here during the repairs. (They have to shut the power off while they are
fixing the problem only during the day)
They upgraded our room at their expense to make up for the issue and
offered to pay the $23 parking for the rental. Which made me quite happy
because we would have not needed the rental if it hadn't been for the
power issue. Never the less, they have more then made up for it.
The people at the front desk are beyond helpful and very friendly! I
think this is far beyond a 3 1/2 star hotel. Other then the appliances
are very outdated....but really...who goes on vacation with intentions
of cooking anything anyways? I'm more then happy to have a fridge and
having a microwave for heating up leftovers is a bonus! Beds are very
comfy and clean. Bathroom is good enough.
Overall, very great! Oh, the location is perfect. Close enough to walk
downtown if you are up for a nice 20 minute walk but very very close to
the beach, Stanley Park or over to the water taxi's to go to Granville
Island!
Hope you enjoy!
You must try Knight and Day Restaurant for breakfast and also across the
street is a little Greek restaurant called Maria's Taverna....best Greek
food I ever had!!!

We were able to walk to the beach and to Stanley park no problem.
WONDERFUL views, night and day. Will definitely try to stay here again.
This hotel is in the International district so you can find some good
not too far away. Indoor pool simple yet ample room for swimming laps.

Did not have the highest of expectations for our stay at this hotel as
it is not a beautiful building, but the staff treated us exceptionally
and the view was UNBELIEVABLE. I really did not know that there was a
place in Vancouver that you could see False Creek, English Bay, and Coal
Harbour. We had our dog and there is a great dog walking area a block
from the property.

I booked this hotel on a name your price website for what I consider a
value hotel. The location is excellent with many restaurants and shops
nearby; there are two Safeway's, a Tim Horton's, and English Bay within
walking distance. The most critical part of the hotel is the shabby
furnishings. The hotel had several decades to refresh the rooms. I
suspect most of the furnishing was from the early 80's. Here are other
features:
Parking is available for $23 CAD per day with in/out privileges. Wifi is
free throughout the hotel but requires a pass code for each session.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Vancouver Plaza back in October. I
was in Vancouver on business and for the U2 concert. I have to say that
the Plaza is great place to stay. The rooms are a little dated, but the
service was excellent. I found the bellmen to be professional and hard
working. My expectations were met. The hotel also has the added benefit
of being in a great neighborhood with interested stores and restaurants.
The view from the floor that I stayed on was stunning. I'd love to
return.

I agree with everyone else, the decor is dated, but the rooms are HUGE! Great
views, close to Stanley Park and English bay. Very Clean. Room was bigger than
many double bed rooms I've seen Close to tons of eating places and several
attractions Grocery store and drugstore in connected mall Best service staff-
reservations, concierge, housekeeping were all SO HELPFUL and we stayed 3 nights |
