I agree with everyone else, the decor is dated, but the rooms are HUGE! Great
views, close to Stanley Park and English bay. Very Clean. Room was bigger than
many double bed rooms I've seen Close to tons of eating places and several
attractions Grocery store and drugstore in connected mall Best service staff-
reservations, concierge, housekeeping were all SO HELPFUL and we stayed 3 nights

Staff is excellent, friendly and accommodating. The most pleasant part of my
visit to Vancouver was the view from the 33rd floor of city lights and Harbour,
and majestic appointment and most comfortable bed ,dining, spa, swimming,
shopping, the beautiful Stanley Park, the close proximity of the world music
festival in the evenings a total treat......yum hum yum yumGuest Review of the Coast Plaza Hotel Vancouver

Booked this hotel through
www.Allure-hotels.com for $ 75 per night. Although the furniture is
somewhat dated, the location is excellent. Round the corner from shops and
numerous restaurants and a 2 mins. walk to the Seawall. Staff were friendly.

Overlooking the city We were greeted at the deck with a friendly staff.
We stayed on the 34th floor over looking all of the west end of Vancouver.
The view was just lovely . The room was well stocked with everything that I
needed. With actual size lotions and shampoos. Cannonballs and Q-Tips.
I loved wrapping up in th big robes that are in your closet.
I'd love to go back and stay at hat same hotel.

Very convenient location to all the restaurants and Denman St. and near Stanley
Park. Rooms are old and need remodeled. Beds were not that comfy.
Our stay was short but very satisfactory and we encountered no problems. This
property is absolutely recommended for a stay.

Don't let the older building put you off. The Coast Plaza is clean, neat,
well-maintained and staffed by terrific people. The kitchen suite is an awesome
value for the cost.

The hotel was very nice. A great location. A couple blocks from English Bay
Beach and Stanley Park. My kids loved the pool, used it everyday. The hotel only
had one restaurant for kids. It has a bar & grill that has pizza and a pasta
bar, but kids are not allowed. There are a lot of restaurants with in walking
distant.

I stayed at this hotel in Sept 2009 and the wireless internet service was
spotty, and an office that is available in the lobby for web browsing and
printing often had others waiting or door was locked. Room was clean, included a
kitchen area and maid service was fast and effcient. for what I paid I was
pleasantly surprised and would stay at this hotel again

I stayed in the King Suite - it was perfect for me & my family. There was a
separate bedroom, living area & full kitchen. The view was breathtaking & quite
frankly worth it alone. The area was very bustling with the beach 2 blocks away
& lots of restaurants & dessert places within 5 minutes walk. We didn't eat
anywhere but near our hotel & still didn't go to all the restaurants we wanted
to. Our concierge was an awesome help, & gave great advice re places to see &
eat. The cleaning staff were very good & because I had a baby & told them to
come back in the morning, they just kept coming back til I was ready for them &
they weren't rude or irritated by it. My hotel stay made the business trip easy
- while I was away in sessions, my babysitter could take my son & be busy all
day without any inconvenience, or stay in the hotel & have all the necessary
amenities. Definitely the hotel made the trip for me!

Open windows and balcony with a view. Constant signing out of wifi access to the
Internet. Irritating to have keep signing on over and over again. Well located,
comfortable hotel featuring big windows with a beautiful view of Vancouver,
English Bay, and the nearby mountains. The balcony was a plus, as was the
refrigerator. Even the elevator was very quick.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this clean hotel, largely owing to the awesome
location and friendly! We didn't try any of the hotel food because West End had
so much to offer just steps from the hotel or along Robson, Davie or any one of
the streets nearby.
We were on the 33rd floor (premium king) - the room was spacious and quiet; we
loved it because we were the only guests in our corner (I guess we were between
housekeeping/staff areas but no problem at all re: noise, esp. at night). The
room was incredibly clean and had a large balcony with amazing views of Stanley
Park, English Bay and even Coal Harbor. The bed was very comfortable, and there
was plenty of bathroom amenities.
The gym is on the 4th floor, I think, with two floors (cardio and some machines
above, overlooking the weight room and racquet ball below). Great, easy access
to do some indoor exercise if you're not walking or renting a bike outdoors. The
various bus stops across the street and nearby can take you around town or to
connect to SkyTrain, etc. We didn't rent a car and just walked - how could you
not? - or used their public transportation with its easy rides and connections
to downtown, Granville Island, etc.
We have absolutely no complaints about this hotel, their staff or service. We'd
stay here again for sure and ask for the same room (smile).

Once inside this hotel, it has most things that you need from a holiday hotel -
bar, restaurant, free wi-fi, pool etc - the hotel rooms are somewhat old and
dated.
Whilst the hotel is situated within reasonable walking distance distance of the
main centre of Vancouver (30 mins walk) and the False Creek area (15 mins walk),
Denman Street is not somewhere that I would recommend single travellers being
alone in at night.

After leaving Victoria. we added one more kid to our group and headed by ferry
to Vancouver.
The Coast Plaza is very well located for family travel. Turn right on Denman and
you are in Stanley Park. Turn left and you are on the English Bay beach. We even
went swimming and slide in the Pacific, the weather was gorgeous.
We had a large suite on the 33 rd floor: what a view!. Too bad we had to leave
before the fireworks on Wednesdays.
2 rooms, a kitchen, a large living room, a small dining room. Plenty of space
for the 6 of us. We had no problem with the portable AC.
The beds were not as comfortable than in Victoria and there was a bit more noise
( from the street instead of the seagulls ) but we slept well .
We had a few nice attentions: chocolates and a turn down service at night, gifts
for the kids. I think you can also borrow rackets and stuff for the beach.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Through the concierge, you can obtain
rebate coupons for certain attractions.
If you have kids, the Vancouver Aquarium is a must see and you can walk there
from the hotel. Other fun places are Playland , the Science center and the
Burnaby village ( you will need a car )
We used the kitchen every day.
WiFi Internet is free and works well
There is a parking and a pool. Also the hotel connects to a mall and there is
another supermarket on Denman and Robson.
The neighborhood is trendy with a tons of restaurants on Denman ( Malaysian,
Mongolian BBQ, Sushi, Fish and Chips, Korean, French and so on ...) It is also a
residential area which makes up for a nice vibe

On a more personal note, we appreciated that the Coast Plaza Hotel sponsors a
young springboard diver from Vancouver, as two of my kids and myself are divers
also
I stayed at the hotel for 2 weeks the rooms are extremely clean and well kept .
The hotel is in a magnificent location on Denman street near English Bay. This
is one of the most trendy and happening places in vancouver and the restaurant
scene just outside the hotels front door is very diverse, with cuisine from
Greece, Malaysia and Canada available (I personally recommend the Raincity
Grill.)
The staff in the hotel are amazingly friendly and efficient, I arrived from the
airport around 1pm, fully aware that check-in was not available until 3pm, the
staff apologized for this and offered me free drinks in the hotel bar!!
I had the pleasure of staying in a superior suite which was the largest hotel
room I have ever stayed in. Although I didn't use the kitchen it was well
equipped and large, for hotel standards, and would be a huge advantage if anyone
was considering self catering on their holiday. Adjacent to the Denman Place
Mall, it is easy enough to have a quick trip to the supermarket or pharmacy to
get anything you may need.
All in all this was a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location in vancouver, I
would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I have been staying here since 2002. I love the location. Certain rooms have the
best view in the town. There is a grocery store in the shopping center on the
1st floor (good when I was sick and went down for some soup), gym attached. I
love Denman St. and English Bay. There are so many terrific ethnic restaurants
and it is 2 blocks to the beach, English Bay and Stanley Park. So anytime of
year, you walk out and are in a great , beautiful place, not like the downtown
hotels. I love this place.

The location is good for Stanley Park, a few blocks away, and for Robson St (the
main shopping street). Granville Island and areas such as Yaletown, Gastown and
Chinatown are perhaps up to 30 minutes walking distance. Check-in was quick,
friendly and efficient, as was check-out. The room was on the 14th floor, not
very high up, but still with a good view from the balcony. It was spacious with
double twin beds, but the decor was somewhat dated. The bathroom had a brown
bath (white sink and toilet), and some chipped floor tiles. That said, the
shower was fine, and the room was very clean. Room facilities included a fridge
(no mini-bar), coffee maker, iron/ironing board, and TV. The pool was 46 ft long
and appeared well kept although heavily chlorinated. The adjacent hot tub was
rather small, but suitably hot. There was also a sauna in the changing room (not
used, so can't comment). Free wi-fi was available in the room with a password
from reception, and we had no problems with it. The lift descended below lobby
level to the underground shopping mall with access from outside, and therefore
security is a concern; the room key card was only required to access the lift
after midnight. We had a comfortable stay for three nights, and have no
complaints for the price we paid.

My husband and I stayed at the Coast Plaza on Comox Street for one night;
Friday. It was our first stay at this hotel and I found the location one block
from Stanley Park and on English Bay excellent. Our room was 3004 very spacious
with a separate seat area with couch and chair. A proper table and chairs were
available for dining had we brought something in along with a fridge and coffee
station. The hotel is older but I found it very clean and everything in good
working order. Went for a swim and enjoyed the pool. We had supper at the Bistro
which was disappointing but with all the interesting restaurants in the
immediate area there are lots of great options for all tastes.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in.
Great Jacuzzi suite
Great views
Awesome fluffy beds with duvet covers and feather pillows
Turndown service
shopping center in the building
Continental breakfast was top notch.
If you are in B.C and want a romantic getaway, they have a romance package. Ask
for the Cypress Suite.

Stayed here for a week and found everything top notch, the food was good in the
restaurant, and the rooms were more than adequate.
Nice to have a shopping mall underneath the place, accessible via the lifts...
Very close to English Bay, if you fancy a walk around and with lots of nice
stores within easy walking distance.

I stayed for 7 nights here with my fiancee and found this hotel added to our
trip. The room we got was spacious and in fairly good condition if you accept
the distrinctly dated decor. Hopefully they will start to do the rooms up soon.
Other aspects of the hotel were excellent - service was always prompt, rooms
were clean. Breakfast was a particular treat and is a real attraction of the
hotel.
The biggest let down was the pool, which is in the basement, and is really not
at all special.
The location is good for Stanley Park, however is a fair way from most
businesses and shops. Overall though, a good base in Vancouver.

Terrific suite with view of Stanley Park and Beach. Location perfect for what we
wanted, tennis and walks in Stanley Park, English Bay Beach and local
neighborhood feel. Don’t understand complaints of it being dated. We loved it
and would most definitely return. Found some great little restaurants just
blocks away. Fabulous experience

When we visit Vancouver again, we plan on staying at The Coast Plaza again. My
wife and I were very pleased with the service, the location and the atmosphere
of the hotel.
Customer service was outstanding comparing to Montreal or much worst Toronto.
Coast Plaza Hotel & Suites give us a crib for our baby even thought I haven't
particularly requested. Personnel is very friendly and always ready to assist
you. Moreover, the hotel is near the beach and big Stanley park. The next street
has some very nice restaurants. Very satisfied with the hotel.

Upon check-in we were upgraded to a suite with kitchen and living area. This was
great for the needs of our 2 kids. Everything is clean. The hotel staff was very
kind and helpful. The milk and cookies at bedtime were definitely a plus for the
kids. Conveniently located to shops, restaurants and the park. Can’t wait to go
back

Great service the concierges were the best so helpful. Had a suite that worked
very well for my teenager and myself. I gave the place a 4 because the ac was
not very efficient it was 80-90 degrees. The view was nice of downtown. The
location is great, a walk from English Bay, Stanley Park, water taxi and trolley
tour stop. Also many good restaurants close by. The kitchen had all you need
except dishtowels. Also best price groceries just below and fruit stands nearby.
If you take the air porter from the airport you will have to walk 4 blocks.
Place did not feel like a hotel. The doorman was super helpful when my rental
car battery died. We’d stay there again. Great Hotel. We’d come back again
