Review of the Executive Hotel Vintage Park Vancouver

July 6, 2011
The place is clean and the staff friendly enough, but the beds are bricks. I knew we were in for a long night when I first sat down on one. I've spent plenty of time in hotels from Motel 6 to the Fairmont, and I've never ever slept on a harder bed. Ever. For the money, I wish we'd gone someplace else, maybe even spent a couple bucks more... I won't be back to any Executive property.

Stayed a few days with my family and some friends. The hotel was clean and people at the front desk were helpful. No Wi-Fi in the hotel rooms, which surprised me, but there was an ethernet connection. Hot tub was too hot, and pretty uncomfortable to sit in for more than a couple of minutes, but the view from there was good. The beds were really hard, and I couldn't sleep until I was so exhausted that there wasn't any choice. They told us that the parking was $20 a night, but failed to mention the extra eight dollars for taxes, which annoyed me. I prefer to know the whole price

I spent one night here for business. The location isn't right in the center of things, but close enough to be pretty convenient at a better price than most Downtown Vancouver Hotels . The staff was very pleasant.

The room I had was tiny - luckily I was by myself so I could fit! Two people would always be running into each other. It appeared nicely decorated at first glance, but a closer inspection revealed cracks in the vinyl covering of the desk chair, frayed spots in the carpet and wallpaper - generally starting to get a little run down. Internet access was very sporadic - a big problem. The staff tried to help, but couldn't figure it out and mentioned that other guests were also having problems.

Didn't use the restaurant, as I had to leave early in the morning, so I utilized room service for breakfast. Prompt, pleasant service, and good food.

Parking is extra - about $25USD.

Overall, if you are just looking for a reasonably priced place to sleep and you aren't claustrophobic, this is an okay choice. But if your hotel is an important part of your travel experience, look elsewhere.

We booked on-line in November 2010 for a July 2011 stay. On-line response was very good with plenty of feedback. We arrived on the red-eye flight out of Honolulu arriving ion Vancouver at 0545. Took a cab to the hotel (about $30). Hotel staff were very courteous and friendly (even at that time of the morning) and the concierge immediately assisted us with our mountain of bags. there was not one suggestion of a problem to leave our bags in secured lock-up. Check-in is normally at 2pm but they said they could have a room ready for us at 10am. As it turned out, we decided to go to Grouse Mountain straight away (an absolute must do. especially with kids....worth every cent ....but be aware it's close to an all day outing) so by the time we got back to the hotel, it was late afternoon.
Rooms were clean and tidy beds very comfortable and all was nice and quiet during the evening. Service excellent. With the $9.00 per day for all travel on all public transport (buses, seabus, trains/subway) the location of the hotel is just fine ...even though it's downtown...but, it's right on the other side of the Granville St bridge, opposite Granville Island  Markets and only 5 minutes easy walk downhill to the nearest train station.

Can park your rental car in the secured carpark but does cost $20 per day.

All in All....pretty good hotel and very reasonable price. On tip though....book on-line as it is cheaper.

Don't forget to add 12% Tax to your calculation as the quoted prices are exclusive of tax.

We had a wonderful stay at the Executive Hotel. We were there for 9 nights and it felt like being at home (except not having to work)! We stayed in a 2 bedroom/1.5 bath apartment with great views of the city skyline. it was very comfortable for the two of us. Although the 2nd bedroom was a bit on the small side with a double bed. The master bedroom had a king size. I can't say enough about how wonderful the staff was at this hotel. Special kudos to Albert and Jennifer, without whom, we would have been lost. This hotel is very centrally located, so everything is within easy walking distance. It is very comfortable and nicely appointed. We were steps from trendy Davie St. and Yaletown , about 2 blocks from the sea wall and False Creek. A short Aqua Bus ride to Granville Island  (visit the Dockside Brewery there!) We had stayed in the Executive Hotel Vintage Court in San Francisco, CA a few years ago. Our experience with that hotel, drew us to make reservations for this one in Downtown Vancouver . The only disappointment was the wine tasting, which they hold Mon - Sat. It was a small tasting of the same wine (only one) every night. And when we asked for another taste, we were told that we could only have one! The hotel in SF featured a number of different wines the atmosphere was more like a gathering. But that did not impact my impression of the hotel. I would highly recommend it and would stay again.
