Fantastic stay with outstanding views of the snow-covered mountains on
the other side of the harbor. Across the street from the scenic
running/walking/biking path along the harbor towards Stanley Park.
Superb service by courteous staff. Plenty of restaurants and shops
nearby in the downtown area with the SkyTrain terminal also right close
by. Could not wish for anything better

Lovely Hotel, in a beautiful location, in the most wonderful and
hospitable city in the world. Stayed here often and never want to leave.
The friendly staff and the expertise of the chef made it difficult to
leave the hotel even though Vancouver is my very best place to be with
so much to do and see.
Thanks to all at the Fairmont for yet another fantastic stay, you will
be seeing us again soon.

If you get a great rate like I did, do not hesitate to stay at the
Fairmont Waterfront particularly in their deluxe corner rooms. With
floor-to-ceiling windows on two walls, I was treated to spectacular
north and west views of Coal Harbour, Stanley Park, the Lions' Gate
Bridge, the North Shore mountains, and the snow-capped Lions (mountain
peaks). I was pleasantly surprised that the photo of the room on their
website actually matched what I found. In addition, there's a huge
window in the bathroom with just as great a view as the main room. Just
a warning for light sleepers... you will hear the seaplanes taking off
starting around 7:00 a.m. but that comes with the territory with staying
in any hotel in Coal Harbour.
On my first trip I had a room with a city view. The room was nice and
spacious, and everything you'd expect from a high quality hotel like the
Fairmont. On my 2nd trip I had a partial city and partial water view.
Both experiences were great. But if you're in a position to pay a little
extra for the corner rooms when you get a deal, it's well worth it! In
addition, the service was impeccable and all the staff were very
pleasant. They pay attention to the little things like making up the
room at the most convenient time or setting up the table for room
service breakfast comfortably at the window so that I could enjoy the
view (far cry from some other hotels when they plonk down a tray
balancing awkwardly off the desk or side table).
Finally, the location is unbeatable... across the street from Waterfront
Station so you can easily get to and from the Vancouver airport by
skytrain, short walk to Robson Street (shopping) and Stanley Park, 5
mins away from the seabus to North Vancouver. You can get to all the
important places by walking or by using the skytrain.
The one small downside... I wasn't able to get late checkout to 1:00
p.m. but I just used the hour to walk around the seawall before taking
the skytrain to the airport to catch my flight. I will definitely be
back to this hotel in the future!

We stayed for a week at the Fairmont Waterfront. The staff were
extremely helpful and we loved the hotel as soon as we pulled up in the
limousine from the airport! (Limo's from the airport in Canada are so
cheap!)
Room: We were upgraded as part of our honeymoon, we got a corner room
with a rounded window, views of the water and also the mountains and the
city. The bed was plush, beautifully decorated and huge! We were so
comfy getting rugged up every night in the fluffy quilt and gazing out
the window to the beautiful city lights. The bathroom was great, very
large, with a shower over bath, but still with all the amenities you
could want. The room had loads of storage and plenty of space. It was
really well decorated.
Gym: Not state of the art but did the job. I used the weights, sauna
(eucalyptus steam room!!!!) every day and the hot tub. The pool got use
from other guest but us Aussies thought it was just plain freezing!
Restaurant: We didn't dine here but from others we heard it's great!
Food in the local area: We loved the Japanese place that the concierge
actually drove us to in Gastown, it was upstairs and cheap with loads of
food and wine... great Christmas Eve! Our all time favorite was
Steamworks in Gastown. Great food, generous serves and great home brew!
They also sell coopers pale ale in the bottle shop next door! Other than
that we ate out at a "fancy" place suggested to us by a younger hip
concierge, and though we got smashed on vino, cocktails and shots, we
spend around CAD$260 and didn't really rate it too highly over other
places. We also ate at Grouse Mountain in the pub, which was extremely
yummy, with the best views of Vancouver, and other than that stuck to
basic food. Vancouver seemed a little bit of a sleepy town, not
somewhere you'd go looking for "nightlife" and a night out dancing till
dawn. It's cozy, safe, and great value for money with great service.
Hotel in general: they were lovely enough to give us high speed internet
access for free in the business centre every time we wanted it. I think
this was because their normal service was down. They also were helpful
with our questions as to what to do, where to go and where to eat
everyday. Given we were there for xmas break, we didn't realize a lot
was closed down!
Great hotel though, and so happy we stayed their over the original
Fairmont!!

Of course, you can expect nothing but the best from the Fairmont. It was
my first trip to Vancouver, and I was there for the Olympics! The rooms
were modern, and spacious, not like the other Fairmont's I have been at;
older rooms, and quite small. We were in a hospitality suite for some of
our meals or in the restaurant, and the food was excellent, and the
staff were top notch. I always try and use hotel workout facilities, as
I figure I have no excuse not to work out when it is only a few floors
below! The equipment was all up to date, it wasn't a large area though.
I love the ladies locker room; they have all the amenities to shower and
get ready for the day, and my favorite part of course is having a steam
after! I was sad that their outdoor pool was closed during the Olympics,
as I guess it is pretty amazing. I would definitely recommend this
hotel, it was perfect!

I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and am impressed with
their consistently high level of service. The waterfront location is
very convenient for business and touring Vancouver. This is always my
hotel of choice in Vancouver. The only negative is that rooms facing the
water can be a bit noisy when the sea planes take off.

Visited Vancouver at the start of our honeymoon and stayed here at the
Fairmont Waterfront.
The review title says it all really!
We got upgraded to a corner room which had good views of the waterfront
- definitely recommend these rooms for the views. Note - you will hear
the planes and helicopters taking off and landing along the water from
around 7am. Didn't bother us, but something to be aware of.
We never ate dinner in the hotel, but the breakfast is good, as is
Scoozis just up the road (a recommendation from the concierge, who along
with the guys on the door were very helpful with advice). We also
enjoyed good meals also at Backus (French), Miku (Sushi/Japanese) and
Kamei Royale (Sushi). Also, suggest hiring bikes and taking a ride
around Stanley Park - happy days! |
