A beautiful hotel, but don’t try and figure out the light
switches in the rooms as they are so complicated that they defy
logic. The front desk was not staffed when we arrived so it took
about 10 minutes to begin checking in and finally they were
having a party/rock concert in the little lobby that was just
overbearing for such a small space. The views are tremendous and
the rooms are large, comfortable, new, clean, modern. So on the
whole we would go back if in town.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights and we had a good
experience overall. The USP of this hotel is its location. It is
on the waterfront and you can see the mountains, coal harbor and
Stanley Park form
here. We stayed in a signature view room which had great
panoramic views of the sea and the mountains. The room was big
and so was the bathroom. The room had all the amenities one
would want from a hotel of this kind. Service quality was good
enough too but not great. The gym was a little bit of a
disappointment as it didn’t have a great view and didn’t seem
planned well.
The lobby at nights turns into a party place with a very nice
lively atmosphere.
We didn’t eat at the restaurant but its comes highly
recommended. The hotel is a bit pricey but the view is worth it
I guess. Also another thing I would like to point out that the
bell desk at all Fairmont hotels is very responsive and polite
and that’s a big plus if you are travelling heavy. So full marks
to them in that department.

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the
Fairmont Pacific Rim. It is truly a well run hotel. The
property itself is incredible, but the staff made all the
difference. The first tip I can give you is that you need to
join the Presidents Club before you arrive. It is free and it
entitles you to all kinds of free stuff. We got WiFi, the use of
their bicycles and rides around town in their BMW’s all for free
as Presidents Club members.
The details…When we arrived we didn’t like the view from our
room so we agreed to pay $20 extra for a room with a view of the
harbor and mountains. It was worth it. The room (1808) even had
a balcony. We had booked a bed and breakfast package which
allowed us to have the breakfast delivered to our room each
morning. Service was impeccable. The food always made it within
½ hour and they always picked up the plates right away too. Turn
down service at night was also done really well.
The room itself was super modern. As many other reviewers have
commented, the lighting and electronics were impressive. It is
uncommon to have an HDTV and we really appreciated it. The bed
was perfect. The towels were a little lacking but not bad. The
bathroom was phenomenal. The location of the hotel is
incredible. It is right on the water front and very close to the
shopping and Stanley Park. One day we used the Hotel’s BMW
mountain bikes and we rode around the perimeter of Stanley Park.
What an incredible day!
We ate lunch at the lobby café, Giovane. It was very good and
also convenient. We had dessert one night at the lobby/bar and
it was also very good. The lobby itself has a really cool vibe.
The Willow Springs Spa was awesome. My wife and I both had
massages and we were both impressed. The spa facility is really
nice. It has its own hot tubs and outdoor lounge area.
When we decided to go to Vancouver we did a lot of research on
where we should stay. There are a lot of choices and non are
particularly cheap. Ultimately we decided to spend a little
extra and we are glad we did. For that extra expense we got so
much value!

We booked the harbor view room but we decided to upgrade it to
the Signature Corner Room when we're checking in, and we were
very happy we did it. It was not the biggest room but very nice
modern room with all the luxury you want. Beautiful wrap around
floor to ceiling window panoramic view of city and harbor. High
tech one touch sensor lighting and drapes controller. One of the
most comfortable hotel bed. Coffee maker in the room with a very
good quality coffee and tea.
The Japanese deep soaking tub was amazing... with a glass of
bubbly with the "spa setting" lighting admiring the harbor view
and all the city lights was very nice in your own bathroom.
Separate shower and toilet, very spacious bathroom. Loved the
shower too. Im not sure if it was the water or the nice
amenities they hotel used but we didnt feel dry at all after
using all the amenities.
When we came back to the room at the end of the day, the
lighting was always set up to "relax setting", a big bottle of
water with a bucket of ice and 2 glasses were served as well.
Turn down service was great.
There is a deli/pastry shop on the lobby level if you decide not
to buy the breakfast from the hotel every morning, nice
ambience. Convenient location
Downtown
Vancouver close to the center of downtown, stations, and
shops. Fitness center was great. We didn't get to use the pool
or Jacuzzi but it was very nice and modern.
We signed up for the President's Club for free, and we got free
internet for the whole stay (also world wide), we also borrowed
the BMW bicycles and cycled along the harbor walk to Stanley
Park, and the hotel BMW cars that took us to anywhere in
downtown, all complimentary.
Every staff was very nice and always greeted you. Dinara the
receptionist and Chris the bellman was exceptional, went the
extra mile to make sure you enjoy your stay. They delivered a
dessert platter with a personalized note to our room when they
found out it was our anniversary.
Very nice stay at the Fairmont Pacific Rim and we'll definitely
come back. Worth every penny! |
